AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ALTERATION OF THE BOUNDARIES OF
THE CITY OF GILROY BY THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED
TERRITORY THERETO AND FOR THE I'TCORPORATION OF SUCH ANNEXED
TERRITORY IN AND AS A PART OF SUCH MUNICIPALITY, AND FOR THE
DISTRICTING, GOVERNMENT AND 1ITJNICIPAL CONTROL OF SUCH ANNEXED
TERRITORY TO BE KNOWN AS THE "CASTLEWOOD PARK UNIT NO.1".

The Council of the vity of Gilroy having on the ~ day
of October, 1948, duly passed and adopted Resolution No.206'/
whereby it declared its desire to alter the boundaries of the
City of Gi~roy by the annexation of certain uninhabited territory
to be known as lI!,GASTLEWOOD PARK UNIT NO. I~; and the City Clerk
of the, Ci ty o:f'f'Gllroy havinr: caused notices of the passage of

said Resolution ,to be published in a newspaper of general cir-

culation in the manner and form required by law; and no objection
to s~id proposed annexation having been filed at the hearing
by said Council:
THE MAYOR AND COw..mN COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS;
SECTION 1. Under the autnority of Chapter 297, statutes of
1939 and amendments thereto, does hereby annex to the said City
of Gilroy as "uninhabited territory" under the requirements
above set forth the aforementioned lands which are more part-
icularly described as follows:
"Beginning at a point in the Easterly line of Miller
Avenue and the Westerly line of the City of Gilroy from which
the northeasterly corner of 'Tract No. 506, Cast1ewood Park,
Unit NO.1', as shown on the Map recorded in Book 18
at page 40 of map~, Official Records of Santa Clara County,
bears N. 89008' 30" w. 80.00 feet and running thence
N. 89008'30" W. 230 feet to the Northwest corner of Cotstle-
wood Park; thence Southerly along the Westerly line of
Castlewood Park to the Southerly line of Third Street;
thence Easterly along the Soutberly line of Third Street
to the Westerly line of Miller 'Avenue; thence Easterly across
Miller Avenue to the intersection of the Southerly line
of Third Street with the Easterly line of Miller Avenue~
thence Northerly along the Easterly line of Miller Avenue
to the point of beginning."

SECTION 2. The said lands hereby annexed shall be known

SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after the date of the filing of a certified copy of this
Ordinance in the Office of the Secretary of State.
