A N C E. li.Q. 49" AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ALTFmrl:ION OF THE BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF GILROY BY THE ANNFJC~TION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY THERETO AND FOR THE INCORPORATION OF SUCH ANNEXED TERRITORY IN AND AS A PART OF SUCH MUNIC IPALITY, AND FOR THE DISTRICTING1 GOVERNMENT AND MUNICIPAL CONTROL OF SUCH ANNEXED TERRITORY 'to BE KNOWN AS THE ttRENZ WAYLAND LANE TRi\.CT.n A written petition having heretofore been filed in the office of the Clerk of the City of Gilroy under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 as set forth in the Government Code asking that there be annexed to the said City of Gilroy as uninhabited territory a tract of land therein and hereinafter described contiguous to the City Limits of the City of Gilroy and the Common Council of the City of Gilroy having on the 7th day of May, 1951, duly passed and adopted Resolution No. 261 designating the said territory proposed to be annexed as "Renz Wayland Lane Tractlt and directihg that Notice of the hearing of said petition ,be had before the Common Council on Monday, the 4th day of June, 1951, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. of said day in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, Gilroy, California, and that notice of the hearing of said petition be given as required by law; and the City Clerk of the City of Gilroy having given the said notice in accordance with the said Resolution and with law and the said matter coming on regularly for hearing at the time above set forth, and having been regularly continued by the Common Council until the 2nd day of July, lS51, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. at the same place, and no objections to the said pro- posed annexation having been filed at or before the time originally fixed for said hearing or prior to the said time of the hearing on the 2nd day of July, 1':) 51, and the said Common Council deeming it desirable that the said property be annexed to the said Cftv of Gilroy: THE MAYOR AND CO~~ON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That under the authority of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 as set forth in the Government Code, there shall be and hereby is, annexed to the said City of Gilroy as "uninhabited territory", the aforementioned lands which are more particularly described as follows: ~91 'T C"_ ....: '"'i , n '1 1'-.~ ~ ,''', 4"> ',' ;.J ij' ~ 1/ BEGINNING at the northwesterly corner of the City of Gilroy and running thence along the westerly corporate limits of the City of Gilroy S. 200 W. to the intersection thereof with the northerly line of First street; thence westerly along the northerly line of First Street to the southerly common corner of Ranch Lots 24 and 23; thence northerly along the line common to said Lots to the intersection thereof withfue prolong- ation westerly of the northerly corporate limits of the City of Gilroy; thence easterly along said line to the point of beginning, and being a portion of Ranch Lot 24 of the Las Animas Rancho as shown on Map No.7 accompanying the report of the Referees in the Las Animas Rancho Partition Suit, Action Noo 5536 had in the Superior Court of the State of California, in and for the County of Santa Clara. SECTION 2. The said lands hereby annexed to the said City of Gilroy shall be known as uRENZ WAYLAND LANE TRACT", and the boundaries of said City of Gilroy shall be and are hereby altered so as to include said annexed territory. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the date of the filing of a certified copy of this Ordinance in the Office of the Secretary of State.
