Section 10 of Ordinance No. 452 of the City of Gilroy be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 10. LICENSE FBE--\A!HEN PAYABLE. All license fees shall be paid in accordance with the provisions of this section in lawful money of ;~he Uni'::ed States El,t the office of the License Collector of the City of Gilroy,or such other place as the Common Council may designate by resolution or ordinance. AN}ffiAL LICENSES. The license year shall be the fiscal year commencing on the first day of July and ending at midniGht on the 30th day of June, next succeeding. The annual licenses first in this ordinance provided shall be due and payable, and shall constitute a debt due and OI1/ing, to the City of Gilroy on the first day of July of each fiscal year, Any person doing business for less than the full fiscal year, and for which business an annual lic~mse fee is herein provided, shall be required to pay the full annual rate. SEMI-ANNUAL LICENSES. For the purpose of issuing the semi- annual licenses and collectin[, the semi-annual license taxes hereby required, the fiscal year of the City of Gilroy is divided into two semi- annual periods as follows: July, August, September, October, November and December shall constitute the first semi-annual period, and January,' February, March, April, ~1ay and June shall constitute the second semi- annual period. The semi-annual licenses in this ordinance provided shall be due and payable, 3.nd shall constitute a debt due and o\ving to the City of Gilroy on the first days :)f July and January of each fiscal year. Any person doing business for only a portion of a semi-ap..nual period, and for vlhich business a semi-annual license fee is herein provided, sh9.1l be required to pay the full semi-annual rate. QUARTFRLY LICENSES. For the purpose of issuing the quarterly .{ ()j licenses and collecting the quarterly license taxes hereby required, the fiscal year of the City of Gilroy is divided into four quarters, as follows: July, August, and September shall constitute the first quarter; October, November and Decem er shall constitute the second quarter; January, February and Harch shall constitute the third quarter; and April, l;Iay and June shall CD nsti tute the fourth quarter. The quarterly licenses in this ordinance provided for shall constitute a debt due and owing to the City of Gilroy and shall be due and payable on or before the last day of the month next succeeding each qUarterly period. Any person doing bus iness for only a portion of a quarterly period, and for \vhich busi~es s a quarterly license fee is herein provided, shall be requ.ired to pay the full quarterly rate. NONTHLY LICE~JSES. The monthly licenses in this ordinance provided shall be due and payable and shall constitute a debt due and owing, to the ~ity of Gilroy on the first day of each month of each fiscal year. Any person doing business for only a portion of a month, and for which business a monthly license fee is herein provided, shall be required to pay the full monthly rate. DAILY LICENSES. The daily licenses in this ordinance provided shall be due and payable to the City each day in advance. PENALTY. If any license provided by this ordinance shall remain unpaid for more than twenty days after the same is due, a penalty of twenty-five (25%) per cent shall be added to the same and collected by the officer or employee of the City havinc charge of the collection of licenses. SFCTION 2. That Section 21 of said Ordihance No. 452 of the City of Gilroy be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Sectj.on 21. GENERlI.L BUSI~JTS,S LICENSE. Provided, however, that in the event any new business Shall be started in the City of Gilroy, and the License Collector is unable to obtain, and such business is unahle to furnish, a statement showing the gross receipts of said business, then, and in such event, the License Collector shall collect the sum of $2.50 each and every month during the time said business is so operated, until such time as the gross receipts of said business may be deterElined pursuant to the terms D.ereofo SECTION j.
