URDINANCE OF Tllli COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 479 ESTABLISHING THE OFFICE UF WATER COLLECTOR,
PRGVIDING FuR THE DUTIES THEREOF, AND ESTABLISHING REGULATIONS,
RULES, RATES, CHARGES, FEES, SERVICES A~ID PENALTIES FOR THE USE OF

GILRUY BY INCREASING THE CHAREGES FOR INSTALLATION FOR ViA-TER SERVICE
WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS ArID FIXING CHARGES FOR REPLACING METERS OR
MCiVING THEM.
The common Council of the City pf Gilroy does ordain as
follows:
SECTION I: Sub-Sec. 5b of Section 5 of Ordinance No.
479 of the City rf Gilr y is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sub-Sec. 5b: Charges for installation for water services
within the city limits for all uses shall be a service charge as
follows, to be paid at time of application:

SECTION II: Sub.-Sec. 5b of Ordinance No. 479 is hereby
amended by adding two new Sub-sections thereto to be known as Sub-
Sec. 5bl and Sub-Sec. 5b2 to read as follows:
Sub-Sec. 5bl. The cost to the consumer for replacing a
3/4tt or larger meter with a larger meter within the City Limits
shall be the difference in the service Charge between the meter
to be replaced and the larger meter to be installedo
Sub-Sec. 5b2. Meters or services moved for the convenience
of the customer within the City Limits will be relocated at the
customer's expense for all materials and }Voro
SECTION III: Sub-Sec. 5d of Section 5 of said Ordinance
No. 479 is hereby amended by adding two new Sub-sections to be known
as Sub-Seco 5dl and Sub-Sec. 5d2 to read as follows:
Sub-Seco 5dl. The cost to the consumer without the City

Limits fnr replacing a 3/4tt or larger meter with a larger meter shall
be the cost of all materials and labor, less larger meter and meter
box, plus the difference between the cost 0i the larger meter and
meter box and the meter and meter box to be replaced.
Sub-Sec. 5d2. Meters or services moved for the convenience
of the custo~er without the City Limits shall be relocated at the
customer's expensa for all materials and labor.
SECTIuIJ IV: Subsection 5g of Secti('n 5 of said Ordinance
No. 479 is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sub-Sec 5g. 7!here property is located both inside and
outside the City Limits, the service charge fer installing a water
service shall be the same as the service charge fnr installing a
water service within the city limits.
SECTION V: Sub:..,Sec.5g of said urdinance No. 479 is hereby
amended by adding two new Sub-sections thereto to be known as Suo.-Sec.
5gl and Sub-Sec. 5g2i to read as follows:
Sub-Sec. 5gl.
The cost to the ccnS'clmer whose property is
located both within and with0ut the City Limits for replacing a 3/4"
or larger meter with a larger meter shall be the same as the cost to

Sub-Sec. 5g2. Meters or s~rvices moved for the convenience
of the customer whose property is located both within and without the
City Limits shall be relocated at the custo8er's expense for all
Materials and labot.
SECTIGN VI: All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTIGN VII: This ordinance shall take effect on the first
day of March, 1954.
