468 OF 'THE CITY OF GILROY BY CHANGING CERTAIN PR PERTY FROM A
ZONE "Bn DISTRIST AND PLACING THE SAME IN ZONE ltC-In DISTRICT,
AND REPF~ALING SUB-DIVISION (b) OF' SECTION NO. 7-1/2 OF ORDINANCE
NO 0 422 RELATING TO SET -BACK LINES AND REPEALING PARAGRAPH3 2, 3
and 4 OF SUB-DIVISION (c) OF SAID SECTION NO. 7-1/2 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 4220
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Gilroy has
heretofore referred to the City Planning Commission of the City of
Gilroy the matter of amending Ordinance Noo 422 of the City of
Gilroy, commonly known as the "Zoning Ordinance", by taking from
Zone nBn District and placing in Zone "C-l" District as said
zones and Districts are defined in said Ordinance, the following
described property located in the City of Gilroy , County of sart a
Clara, state of California, to-wit:
Beginning at a point on the Southerly line
of First street distant thereon, 111.50 feet
westerly from its intersection with the
westerly line of Rosanna street and running
thence in a southerly direction at right angles
to First street 63000 feet; thence at right angles
in an easterly direction to the westerly line of
Rosanna street and thence in a northerly direction
along said line of Rosanna street to the southerly
line of First street; thence along said line westerly
to the point of beginning.
ALSO, beginning at the point of 1ntersection of
the southerly line of First Street with the
Easterly line of Rosanna street and run~ing thence
in a southerly direction along the easterly line of
Rosanna street 70000 feet; thence in an easterly
direction at right angles to ~osanna Street 140000
feet to an alley; thence in a northeasterly direction
across said alley to a point on the easterly line of
said alley distant thereon 60.00 feet southerly on
the south line of rirst street; thence at right angles
to the easterly line of said alley in an easterly
direction to the westerly line of Church street;
thence across Church ~treet in a northeasterly direction
to a point on the easterly line of Church street distant
thereon 50000 feet southerly from the southerly line
of First street; thence at right angles to the east
line of Church street in an Easterly direction 150.00
feet; thence at ritht angles in a northerly direction
to the southerly line of First street; thence in a
westerly direction along the southerly line of First
Street to the point of beginning;

WHEREAS, the Ci ty Planning COlilmis s ion of the Ci ty
of Gilroy of its own initiative has proposed that said Ordinance
No. 422 as amended be further amended by eliminating Subdivision
(b) of Section No. 7-1/2 thereof as set forth in Section 3 of
Ordinance No. 468 amending said Ordinance No. 422 relating to set-
bac~ distances of buildings from the property line in C-l Districts,
and also eliminating Paragraphs 2, 3, and 4 of Subdivision (c)
of said section No. 7-1/2 as established and set forth in Section
3 of said Ordinance No. 468; and
WHEREAS, the said City Planning Co~~ission has heretofore,
after giving due notice thereof, held a hearing on the matter
of making said amendments and has duly made its report, findings
and reco~1endations to the Common Council of the City of Gilroy
in which it recomnlends that said Ordinance No. 422 be amended in
accordance with the said proposals; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Gilroy has
heretofore by Resolution fixed Monday, the 15th day of March,
1954, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.mo in the Common Council
meeting place in the City Hall, Gilroy, california, as the time
and place for hearing objections to the proposed amendments, and

notice of the said hearing has been given as required by law and
the ordinances of the City of Gilroy; and
Wl1EREAS, the said Common Council of the City of Gilroy
did, on this 15th day of March, 1954, at the hour and place
designated in the said Resolution fixing the time and place of
hearing and in the said notice thereof, proceed to hold the said
hearing, and no objections having been made to the said amendments,
the Common Council of the City of Gilroy having duly considered
the matter and having determined that the said amendments to the
said Ordinance No. 422 should be adopted as hereinafter set fortho

OF GILROY DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: Ordinance No. 422 of the City of Gilroy,
generally known and designated as the ltZoning Ordinance" of the
said City is hereby amended as follows:

City of Gilroy, County of santa Clara, state of California, to-wit:

SECTION II: That Subdivision (b) of Section Noo
7-1/2 of said Ordinance No. 422 as said Section No. 7-1/2 is set
forth in Section 3 of Ordinance No. 468 amending said Ordinance
No. 422 is hereby repealed.

SECTION III: That Paragraphs 2, 3, and 4 of Subdivision
(c) of said ~ection No. 7-1/2 of said Ordinance No. 422 as the
same are set forth and designated in Section 3 of said Ordinance
l~'J. 468 amending satn. (0Ird1nance Ifo. 422 are hereby repealedo
SECTION IV, This ordinance. shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approvalo
