ORDINANCE NO. 541
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING uRDINArcE NO. 427 OF THE CITY OF GILRuY
REGULATING AND CONTROLLING DOGS, BY ADDING A NEW SECTION, TO
BE KNOWN AS SECTION 6-1/2, REQUIRING VACCINATION OF DOGS AS
A PRERE!QUISlTE TO LICENSING
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY does ordain as follows:
SECTION I: Ordinance No. 427 of the City of Gilroy
shall be, and is hereby, amended by adding a new
section, thereto, to be known as Section 6-1/2, to
read as follows:
SECTION 6-1/2: No dog shall be licensed
unless the owner of such dog shall present
to the City CJerk. a certificate signed
by a licensed doctor of veterinary medicine,
certifying that such dog has been vaccinated
with an approved anti-rabies vaccine which
will provide protection against rabies during
the period for which the license is to be issued.
SECTION II: All ordinances and parts of ordinance in
conflict with this ordinance shall be, and are hereby,
repealed.
SECTION III: This ordinance shall be in full force am
effect from and after its passage and approval.

vote:
