AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 422 OF THE CITY OF GILROY,
GENERALLY I(NOWN AS THE "ZONING ORDINANCE", BY CHANGING THE BOUNDARY
LINES OF DISTRICTS "A" AND "B"
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of
Gilroy has heretofore proposed, held a public hearing thereon
in accordance with law, and recommended in a written report
to the Common Council of the City of Gilroy, that Ordinance
NO. 422, commonly known as the "zoning Ordinance", of said City
be amended by changing the boundaries of Districts "A" and "B",
as hereinafter set forth, and
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Gilroy has
heretofore received the said report and has heretofore adopted a
Resolution fixing Monday, the lS day of November, 1957, at the
hour of 8 o'clock p.m. in the Common Council Chambers in the
City Hall, Gilroy, California, as the time and place of hearing
objections to the said rezoning, and has duly caused notice of
the time and place of the said hearing to be given as required
by law1 and
WHEREAS, the said Common Council did, on the said 18 day
of November, 1957, at the hour and place designated in the said
notice, proceed to hold the said public hearing and hear objections
to the said proposed rezoning, and having duly considered the
matter, and having determined that the said amendment to said
Ordinance No. 422 should be adopted, as hereinafter set forth,
NOW, THEREFORE, TR8":MUCiR AND THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CI'lY
OF GILROY DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Ordinance No. 422 of the City of Gilroy,
generally known and designated as the "Zoning Ordinance", of said
City is hereby amended as follows:
A. That the boundaries of Zone "A" District and Zone "B"
District be changed so as to include in said Zone "A" District the

fOllowing described premises in Zone "B" District, to wit:
Those certain premises located between 7th street and
8th street and bounded on the west by Princevalle street
and on the east by the alley through the block bounded
by 7th street, 8th Street, Dowdy street, and Carmel
Street..
B. That the following described premises not now zoned
be placed in Zone "A" District, to wit:
BEGINNING at a 4" X 4" post "S2M" at the corner common
to Ranch Lots 23 and 24 in the southerly Boundary of
Ranch Lot 25 as shown on the map hereinafter referred
to, and running thence along the line common to Ranch
Lots 23 and 24 S. 220 15' E. 1100.29 feet to a buried
iron pipe at the intersection thereof with the line
common to Lots 6 and 7 as shown on said map1 thence
along the line common to Lots 6 and 7 and Lots 15 and
16 N. 890 15' W. 835.15 feet to the intersection thereof
with the westerly line of Wren Avenue (shown as Avenue H.
on said map) 1 thence along the westerly line of Wren Avenue
N. 00 47' E. to the intersection thereof with the southerly
line of Ranch Lot 251 thence along the southerly line of
Ranch Lot 25, N. 890 08' E. 406.35 feet to the point of
beginning and
CONTAINING therein 14.42 acres of land.

BEING a portion of Lots 7, 8, 16 and 17 as shown on map
entitled "Map of Henry Miller's Subdivision of Las Animas
Ranch Lot 23", which map is recorded in Book "H" of Maps
at page 5, Records of Santa Clara County, California.
Reference is hereby made to the map and zoning ordinance
now on file in the Office of the Clerk of the City of Gilroy.
Section 2: That the Map of the zoning Ordinance of the
City of Gilroy be made to conform to the changes herein set
forth.
Section 3: That should any part of this ordinance be
declared by any Court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid,
all the rest and remainder of said Ordinance shall continue to be
valid and in full force, the Common Council hereby declaring that
it would have adopted said remaining portion of said Ordinance
irrespective of the invalidity of the portion that has been
declared void.

Section 4: This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval.
ADOPTED and PASSED this 18 day of November, 1957, by the
