ORDINANCE NO. 575
ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY FIXING AMOUNT
OF REVENUE FROM PROPERTY TAXES NECESSARY TO SUPPORT IS DEPARTMENTS
FOR THE CURRENT YEAR, 1958-1959, AND TO PAY THE BONDED AND OTHER
INDEBTEDNESS OF THE CITY
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Gilroy has
heretofore transferred the duties of the Assessor and Tax Collector
to the County Assessor and County Tax Collector of the County of Santa
Clara in accordance with Sections 51500 to 51518 of the Government
Code: and
WHEREAS, Section 51508 of said Code requires that the
legislative body of the City shall fix by ordinance, prior to the
fixing of the tax rate for the current year, the amount of revenue
from property taxes necessary to support its departments for the
current year and to pay the bonded or other indebtedness of the
City: and
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Gilroy
is about to fix the tax rate for the year 1958-1959, but has not
yet,
Now, Therefore, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Common Council
of the City of Gilroy as follows:
Section 1: That the Common Council of the City of
Gilroy does hereby fix the amount of revenue from property taxes
necessary for the current year and to pay the bonded and other
indebtedness of the City at the sum of $ 139,'500.00
