ORDINANCE NOo 616
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NOo 611 OF THE CITY OF GILROY
WHICH PROVIDED FOR THE ALTERATIONS OF THE BOUNDARIES OF SAID
CITY BY THE ANNEXATION THERETO OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRI-
TORY OWNED BY THE CITY OF GILROY DESIGNATED AS "GILROY SEWER
FARM ANNEXATION NOo 1 n.z UNDER THE ANNEXATION OF UNINHABITED
TERRITORY ACT OF 1939 AND FOR THE INCORPORATION OF SUCH TERRI-
TORY IN AND AS A PART OF SUCH MUNICIPALITY. BY CORRECTING THE
DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPERTY AS DESCRIBED IN SAID ORDINANCE
ANNEXED TO SAID CITY.
WHEREAS the Common Council of the City of Gilroy did
on the 2nd day of Novernbert 1959~ adopt Ordinance Noo 611 wherein
and whereby there was annexed to the City of Gilroy a certain
territory belonging to the City of GilroYq under the Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939i and~
WHEREAS the description of the said territory annexed to
the City of Gilroy by said Ordinance was incorrect in that it inclu-
ded a small strip of land comprising about 1025 acres not intended
by the Common Council to be included in the description of the pro-
perty annexed~ and it is necessary that the description of the
territory annexed be changed accordingly~ and said change can be
accomplished by the amendment of said Ordinance Noo 611 as herein-
after set forthz
NOW II THEREFORE, THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: Said Ordinance Noo 611 of the City of Gilroy
is hereby amended to read as follows:
SECTION I: The said Common Council of the City of Gilroy
does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinbefore men-
tioned and hereinafter described to the City of Gilroy~ and does
hereby further ordain that the said territory be and the same is
hereby annexed to the City of GilroYi
The said territorYq the annexation of which to the City of
Gilroy is hereby approved and ordainedz is all that territory situated
in the County of santa Clara~ State of Californiaz and more particul-
arly described as follows:
BEING a portion of Las Animas Ranch Lot 51 as shown on
Map Noo 7 accompanying the final report of the Referees
in the Las Animas Rancho Partititon Suitk action Noo 5536~
had in the Superior Court of the State of California~ in

and for the County of Santa Clara~ and being more
particularly described as followsj
BEGINNING at the most westerly corner of Ranch Lot 51
as shown on said Mapl and running thence along the
Southwesterly line thereof So 320 1St Eo 2207004 feet
to the most southerly corner thereof; thence along the
Southeasterly line thereof No 540 45t Eo 2065080 feet
to the corner common to Ranch Lots 51 and 53 in the
Southwesterly line of Ranch Lot 52j thence along the

to the most westerly corner thereofj thence across Ranch
Lot 51 No 350 1St Wo 1781067 feet to a point on the North-
westerly line thereofj thence along said northwesterly line

excepting from the above described territory the following

Beginning at a 2" x 411 stake guarded by a pipe~ in the
fence on the line between Lots 51 and 53 of the Las

LoAo 15, the southernmost corner of the John Gilroy
portion of the San Ysidro Rancho in the Eastern line of
the Las Animas Rancho and running thence along the line
between Lots 51 and 53 So 320 1St Eo 200677 chso to an
old 4 x 4 white post marked T.R.M.j thence No 540 451 Eo
00607 chso to a pipe in the fenc~ thence No 320 1St Wo
200605 chso to a 2 x 4 stake and pipe guardj thence So 570

1025 acres and being a strip 40 feet wide on the South
end of the West side of 190045 acre tract designated on
Map Noo 7 accompanying the final report of the referees
in the partition suit of Henry Miller et al vSo Massey

SECTION lIs The said lands hereby annexed to the City of
Gilroy shall be known as GILROY SEWER FARM ANNEXATION NOo 10
SECTION III: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force from and after the date of the filing of the certified
copy of this Ordinance in the office of the Secretary of Stateo
