ORDINANCE NO. 618
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 418 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY
OF GILROY PROHIBITING THE DEPOSIT OF REFUSEz BOTTLES, AND OTHER
LITTER AND ACCUMULATIONS IN OR UPON ANY PUBLIC OR PRIVATE ALLEY
OR STREET AND PUBLIC GROUNDS WITHJlN THE CITY OF GILROY 0
THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 10 Section 418 of the Municipal Code of the City of Gilroy
as set forth in Ordinance NQQ 267k is hereby amended to read as follows:
SECTION 418: It shall be unlawful for any person to place,
throw, deposit, dump or stand any papert can,~ bottles,
broken glass, ash tray accumulations, refuse, trash, rubbish
or garbage in or upon any public or private alley or street
or public grounds within the City of Gilroy or cause the
same to be so done, except that garden refuse may be deposited
by a person in front of property owned or occupied by him
and then only when the same is deposited in proper containers
or properly bundled for the purpose of having the same collected
by trash or refuse or garbage collectors employed by or under
contract withthe city in accordance with Ordinances of the
City of Gilroyo
SECTION 2. Any person violating or wilfully non-complying with any
of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a mis-
demeanor, and shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine
not exceeding One Hundred Dollars, or by imprisonment in the City
Prison not exceeding Thirty days, or by both fine and imprisonrnento
SECTION 30 All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby repealedo
SECTION 40 This ordinance shall take effect and be in force on and
after its passage and approvalo
