ORDINANCE NO. 622 '
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. 422 (ZONING ORDINANCE) OF SAID CITY BY REZONING
CERTAIN 'rERRITORY LOCATED IN THE SOUTHEASTERLY PORT ION
OF THE CITY OF GILROY FROM ZONE IIBII TO ZONE IIC=lll DISTRICT
WHEREAS, there has been heretofore filed with the City
Planning Commission of the City of Gilroy a petition asking that
the premises hereinafter described be rezoned and reclassified from
Zone liB" District as defined in Ordinance No. 422 of the City of
Gilroy to Zone IIC_llt District; and
WHEREAS, the said City Planning Commission of the City of
Gilroy has held a hearing upon the said application after having
given notice of the hearing in accordance with law and the Ordinance
of the City of Gilroy and has duly reported to the Council of the City
of Gilroy in accordance with said zoning ordinance and in said report
has recommended said rezoning; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Gilroy has heretofore by
resolution fixed Monday, the 2nd day of May, 1960, at the houcof
8:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers in the Wheeler Memorial Auditorium
at 6th and Rosanna Streets in the City of Gilroy as the time and place
for hearing the said application for said rezoning and notice of the
said time and place of said hearing has been duly given as required by
law and the ordinance of the City of Gilroy, and said application having
come on regularly to be heard at the time and place aforesaid fixed by
the Council for said hearing and the Council having considered the
said application and having determined that the granting of said permit
willnot be detrimental to the public interest and that it should be
granted;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the following described premises, being that
hereinbefore mentioned, in the said City of Gilroy now located in
Zone ItBIt District as the same is described and defined in Ordinance
No. 422 of the City of Gilroy are hereby removed from said District
and rezoned and placed in Zone ltC-I" District, to wit:

BEGINNING at the intersection of the East City Limits
of the City of Gilroy with the Northerly line of Old Gilroy Street:
thence Northerly along the East City Limits of the City of Gilroy
a distance of 336.60 feet; thence running 5~570 55' W. a distance
of 165.66 feet; thence S. 310 15' E. a distance of 266.64 feet to
the Northerly line of Old Gilroy Street; thence Easterly alongthe
Northerly line of Old Gilroy Street a distance of 117.48 feet to the
point of beginning; excepting therefrom that portion of said premises
now in Zone ltC_lit District.
Reference is hereby had to the maps and general zoning ordinance
of the City of Gilroy now on file in the office of the City Clerk.
Section 2. The boundaries of said liB" District and said
ltC_I" District are hereby changed in accordance with and to conform
to this ordinance and the map constituting a part of the said "Zoning
Ordinance No. 422", of the City of Gilroy, in said Ordinance and therein
referred to shall be made to conform to the changes herein set forth.
Section 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
therewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4. In accordance with Section 608 of the Charter
of the City of Gilroy, this ordinance shall not become effective
until thirty days from and after the date of its adoption.
