ORDINANCE NO. 636
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY AMENDING SECTION 69
OF ORDINANCE NO. 480 (TRAFFIC ORDImNCE) BY CHANGING
THE DIRECTION OF ONE WAY TRAFFIC ON CERTAIN ONE WAY
STREETS OR ALLEYS
The Council of the City of Gilroy does ordain as follows:
Section 1. Section 69 of Ordinance No. 480 known as the
traffic ordinance of the City of Gilroy is hereby amended to
read as follows:
SECTION 69. One-Way Streets. In accordance with
Section 29 and when properly signposted, traffic
shall move only in the direction indicated upon the
following streets or roadways:
1. On the alleys running in a generally Northerly
and Southerly direction through Blocks 1 and 2
North and Block 1 South, all in Range 1 West of
the City of Gilroy, only North bound traffic shall
be permitted.
2. On the alleys along the West side of the Soahhern
Pacific Railroad Company1s right of way between
Old Gilroy Street and Lewis Street, only South
bound traffic shall be permitted.
3. On that part of Welburn Avenue as it existed
before the division of branching of the Easterly
portion thereof, from Monterey Street to the
Westerly end of the traffic island dividing Welburn
Avenue as it formerly existed from the Southerly
branch or division of said Avenue, that is, at the
interior point of division of the two branches
of said street, only West bound traffic shall be
permitted.
Section 2. The Chief Administrative Officer of the City of Gilroy
is hereby directed to cause signs to be placed and erected where not
already in place, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance
and Section 29 of Ordinance No. 480, and to remove any signs not
required because of this amendment.
Section 3.
Ordinance No. 613 and all other ordinances and parts

of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force lO:da yes after its passage and approval.
