A~ ORDINANCE ADOPTING A FIRE PREVENTION CODE PRESCRIBING
REGULATIONS GOVERNING CONDITIONS HAZARDOUS TO LIFE AND
PROPERTY FROM FIRE OR EXPLOSION.
THE GOWClL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Adoption of Fire Prevention Code. There is hereby
adopted by the Council of the City of Gilroy for the purpose of pres~
cribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to life and property
from fire or explosion, that certain code known as the Fire Prevention
Code recommended by the National Board of Fire Underwriters, being par~
ticularly the 1960 edition thereof, and the whole thereof, together w~h

Appendices A, B, and C, with the exception that whenever in the said
Fire Pr.evention Code the term or expression HBureau of Fire PreventionU
is used, it shall be taken to mean, and shall ,mean, the uDivision of

Fire PreventionH as defined the Administrative Code heretofore adopted

by the Council of the City of Gilroy in Ordinance No. 627 . of Which
Fire Prevention Code not less than three (3) copies have been and now
are filed in the office of the City Clerk, andthe same are hereby adopted
and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, and from the
date on which this ordinance shall take effect, the provisions thereof
shall be controlling within the limits of the City of Gilroy.
Section 2. Repeal. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. Effective~. This ordinance shall take effect and
be in full force thirty (30) days from and after its adoption and approval.
