AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 422 OF THE CITY OF
GILROY BY ZONING FIRST SOUTHERN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF
GILROY AND REZONING CERTAIN ADJACENT TERRITORY ALONG THE
SOUTHERN LINE OF TENTH STREET FROM ZONE tlB" TO ZONE "C"
DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Gilroy has
on its own initiative proposed that Ordinance No. 422 (Zon-
ing Ordinance) of the City of Gilroy be amended in certain
particulars as hereinafter set forth~ and
WHEREAS, the said Council of the City of Gilroy
has heretofore referred the proposal to so amend the said
Ordinance to the Planning Commission of the City of Gilroy
for its examination and recommendation thereon, and said
Planning Commission of the City of Gilroy has held a hear-
ing upon the said proposal in accordance with law, and has
made its report to the City Council in which it recommends
that said Ordinance No. 422 be amended in accordance with
said proposal; and
WHEREAS, the law requires that a public hearing be
held upon said proposal before the City Council, and that
ten (10) dayst notice of the hearing be given by publication,
and the said notice has been given, and said Council having
held the said hearing at the time and place specified in
said notice, and no one appearing to object thereto, and the
Council finds that the said proposed Amendment should be
adopted as being in the public interest;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GI~OY DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There is hereby placed in and made a
part of "c" District all that portion not heretofore zoned

of the following described premises located in the City of
Gilroy:
"BEGINNING at a point in the southeasterly
line of Tenth Street, distant thereon N.
700 oot E. 620.67 feet from the intersec-
tion thereof with the center line of
Rosanna Street a s shown on said maps, and
running thence along the southeasterly line
of Tenth Street N. 700 00' E. 469.88 feet
to the intersection thereof with the south-
westerly line of the Monterey Road (State
Highway IV-SCl-2); thence along the south-
westerly line of Montere~ Road S. 200 23'
30" E. 35.32 feet, S. 18 22' 3011 E. 606.13
feet and s. 200 15t 3011 E. 1157.55 feet to
the northeasterly corner of the portion of
Princevalle Storm Drain Right of Way con-
veyed to the County of Santa Clara by deed
from the Arnold Day Corporation; thence
along the northerly line of said Right of
Wa~ S. 890 55' 5011 W. 479.46 feet; thence N.
20 15' 30" W. 1635.33 feet to the point of
beginning II
and all that portion of the above-described premises now in
"BII zone be, and the same is, hereby placed in and made a
part of "c" zone.
Section 2. There is hereby placed in and made a
part of "B" zone all that portion of the following described
premises not heretofore zoned, to wit:
"BEGINNING at the intersection of the south-
easterly line of Tenth Street with the cen-
ter line of Rosanna Street and running
thence along the southeasterly line of Tenth
Street N. 700 E. 620.67 feet; thence leaving
the southeasterly line of Tenth Street S. 200
15' 30" E. 1535.33 feet to a point in the
northerly line of princevalle Storm Drain
Right of Way as conveyed to the County of
Santa Clara by deed from the Arnold Day Cor-
poration~ thence along said northerly line
S. 890 55' 50" W. 667.41 feet to the north-
westerly corner of said land conveyed to the
County of Santa Clara; thence along the pro-
jection of the center line of Rosanna Street
N. 200 01' 30" W. 1407.80 feet to the point
of beginning."
Reference is hereby had to the maps and general zoning ordi-
nance of the said City now on file in the office of the City
Clerk.
Section 3. That the boundaries of the said Dis-

tricts and Zones be changed so as to accomplish the foregoing
changes in the territory of the respective zones.
Section 4. That the Map of the Zoning Ordinance of
the said City of Gilroy be made to conform to the changes here-
in set forth.
Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect thirty (30) days from and after its passage and approval.
