ORDINANCE NO. 676
AN ORIHNANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY AMENDING SUBDIVISION 14 OF SECTION 13.46
OF THE GILROY CITY conE BY REQUIRl~G THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO [NVESTIGATE ALL
APPLICATIONS FOR LICENSES.
The CouncIl of the City of Gilroy does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1
Subdivision 14 of Section 13.46 of the Gilroy City Code is hereby amended
to read as follows:
(14) CARDROOMS For the business of conducting a
cardroom $100.00 per year, for one table; and
$50.00 per year for each addItional table.
ThIs license shall be iS$ued only for the game
known as IfCa 1 i fom i a Draw Pokerff.
No lic~nse for the operation of any card~
room shall be issued without the specIfic approval
of the City CQuncil. The application for a
license to operate a cardroom shall be made in
writIng to the City CouncIl, who shall refer the
application to the Chief of Police to investIgate
the character of the applIcant. The Chief of
police shall conduct said investigation and
report his findings, In wrItIng, along with his
recommendations to the City Council. If the
Council determines that the Issuance of said
lIcense shall not be detrImental to the public
welfare, It may authorize the issuance of said
license.
SECTION 2
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this Qrdinance
are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3
This ordinance shall take effect and be In force 30 days from and after
its adoption and approval.
This ordinan~ was introduced and read on the 16th day of AprIl, 1962 and
passed and adopted on the 7th day of May, 1962 by the following vote:
