ORDINANCE NO. 678
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY VACATING AND ABANDONING A
PORTION OF WAYIAND LANE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY having heretofore duly
passed and adopted Resolution No. 681 whereby it declared its
intention to proceed, under the street Vacation Act of 1941, and
vacate a portion of a certain street in the City of Gilroy hereinafter
described.
And, the City Clerk of The City of Gilroy having caused notiees
of the passing of said Resolution to be published in the Gilroy
Evening Dispatch, a newspaper of general circulation, in the manner
and form required by law 1 and the said street, public alley, or
thoroughfare having been posted in the manner and form required
by law1 and no objection to said proposed vacation of said street,
public alley or thoroughfare having been filed at or before the
hearing held by said council on the 7th day of May. 1962, at 8:00 p.m.
o'clock, at the Council Chambers in the City Hall, No. 10 South
Rosanna street in the City of Gilroy, County of Santa Clara, State
of California, the time and place fixed for the hearing in the
said notices, and the Council having duly considered the matter
of vacating the said portion of said street, public alley or
thoroughfare, which is hereinafter described:
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The following described portion of Wayland Lane
within the said City of Gilroy is hereby vacated and abandoned:
BEING a portion of Wayland Lane as shown upon that certain Map
entitled, "Map of Loupe et all Northern Addition to the City of
Gilroy", which Map was filed for recording in the Office of the
Recorder of the County of Santa Clara, State of California, on
June 5, 1888 in Book D of Maps at Page 5, and more particularly
described as follows:

"BEGINNING .lilt a point in the northeasterly line of Wayland
Lane, distant thereon N. 220 15. W. 10.87 feet from the
most southerly point thereof at the intersection with the
northeasterly line of Hecker Pass Highway (Bodfish Mill
Road) as shown on said Map, and running thence along the
northeasterly line of Wayland Lane, N. 220 IS' W. 109.34 feet1
s. 220 IS' E., having a radius of 200.00 feet and a central
angle of 240 10' 30", for a distance of 84.39 feet to a
point on a reverse curve, (said point having a common radial
bearing of N. 880 04' 30" W)1 thence along a reverse curve
to the left, having a radius of 18.04 feet and a central
angle of 910 09' 20", a distance of 28.70 feetj thence S.
890 13' 50" E. 8.83 feet to the point of beginning, and
CONTAINING THEREIN 0.020 acre parcel of land (887.72 square
feet)" .
SECTION II: The vacation and abandonment of the said alley
or right of way or easement hereinbefore described shall in no
way affect the right of way, if any, in said alley, right of way
or easement now held by the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph
eompany as set forth in the right of way agreement now of record

with the Recorder of Santa Clara County, or any right of way
heretofore granted to the Pacific Gas and Electric Company or its
predecessor at interest, the Coast Counties Gas and Electric
Company or of the City of Gilroy to repair or replace any water,
drainage or sewer lines now in or on said premises.
