ORDINANCE NO. 685
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY AMENDING SECTIONS 12.30, 12.31
AND 12.32 OF THE GILROY CITY CODE REGUIATING THE PLACEMENT OF
GARDEN REFUSE FOR SYSTEMATIC COLLECTION.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: Sec. 12.30 of the Gilroy City Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Sec. 12.30 Same - Limitations on what may be placed on
Paved Streets
Where streets are paved from gutter to gutter leaves only
may be placed in the street at any time subject to the provisions
of this article.
SECTION II: Section 12.31 of the Gilroy City Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Sec. 12.31 - Distance leaves are to be placed from curb
for collection by sweeper when streets are paved.
Leaves only shall be placed in streets paved from gutter to
gutter not less than twelve inches and not more than forty-eight
inches from the curb so that they may be picked up by the sweeper.
SECTION III: Sec. 12.32 of the Gilroy City Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Sec. 12.32 Same - method of placing weeds, vines, grass
clippings etc., and designation of area when streets
are paved, temporary type containers not returnable.
Weeds, vines, shrubbery, brush, tree tr~ings and grass
cuttings shall be tied in bundles or placed in suitable containers
which shall not exceed fifty pounds in weight or four feet in length.
The containers or bundles shall be placed in the area between the
sidewalk and the curb when streets are paved from gutter to gutter.
In areas where the sidewalk abuts the curb of such streets the
containers or bundles shall be placed on the lawn two feet from
the sidewalk. All but permanent type containers will be hauled
away with contents and will not be returned.
SECTION IV: All ordinances and parts of ordinances of the City
of Gilroy in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION V: This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force 30 days from and after its passage and approval.
