ORDINANCE NOo 695
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY AMENDING CHAPTER ~
OF THE GILROY CITY CODE PROVIDING FOR THE ELECTRICAL
CODE BY ADOPT ING THE SANTA CIARA VALLEY UNIFORM ELECTRICAL
CODE, 1961, WITH CERTAIN EXCEPTIONS
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Sec. 9.1 constituting all of Chapter 9 providing
for an electrical code in the City of Gilroy is hereby amended to
read as follows:
Sec. 9.1 Adoption - exceptions
For the purpose of setting forth proper regulations for
the protection of public health and safety, regulating the
installation of electric wiring, electrical devices, appliances
and equipment, and the issuance of permits, the making of inspec-
tions and the charging of fees, and the repealing of ordinances
or parts of ordinances in conflict therewith, the Santa Clara
Valley Uniform Electrical Code, 1961 Edition, is hereby
adopted with the following deletions and amendments:
a. Section 11.14-1.4, sub-sections 8,9,10, and 11 shall
not be a part of this code.
b. When in the Santa Clara Valley Uniform Electrical Code,
1961 Edition, the words "Director of the Building Inspection
Division" or "Chief Electrical Inspector" are referred to,
each of such words shall mean Building Inspector, his
Deputies or duly appointed assistants.
c. When in the Santa Clara Valley Uniform Electrical Code,
1961 Edition the words "County" or "County of Santa Clara"
are referred to, each sha:'ll mean the City of Gilroy.
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force 30 days from and after its adoption and approval.
