Ordinance 696 ORDINANCE NO. 696 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY REQUIRING SUBDIVIDER TO PROVIDE FOR, CONDUCT r AND PAY FOR TESTING OF MAT- ERIALS REQUIRED BY THE CITY IN SUB-DIVISIONS, TO BE ADDED TO AND BECOME A PART OF ARTICLE 2 CHAPTER 21 OF THE GILROY CITY CODE. THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. There is hereby added to and made a part of Article 2 of Chapter 21 of the Gilroy City Code the following section to be known as Seco 2l036A to read as follows: Seco 2l.36A Testing of Materials The subdivider and/or developer shall be required to provide certain material tests as determined by the City. All said tests shall be made by bureaus, laboratories or agencies approved by the City of Gilroyo All tests and reports shall be accomplished at no cost to the City. A Copy of the report on the required tests shall be forwarded to the Director of Public Works prior to the continuance of the next related phase of constructiono The required tests in the following schedule shall be a minimum requirement: (a} SUBGRADE - 3 tests will be required, locations of tests to be selected by the Director of Public Works. The subgrade shall have a relative compaction of not less than 95 percent for a depth of Oo5-foot as deter- mined by Test Method Noo Califo 2160 v (b} AGGREGATE BASE - 3 tests will be required, locations of tests to be selected by the Director of Public Workso The relative compaction of each layer of compacted base material shall not be less than 95 percent of that deter- mined by Test Method Noo Calif. 2160 (c~ CONCRETE - Shall be sampled daily at such times as designated by the Director of Public Works. The minumum strength of any concrete shall be two thousand pounds per square inch after 28 days. PLANT MIXED SURFACING - Shall be sampled daily ~r for each one thousand tons or fraction thereof as disignated by the Director of Public Works 0 The samples shall be of 'uncompressed plant mix taken at the job site. (d} SECTION 20 All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealedo SECTION 3.
