ORDINANCE NO. 719
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 63 AND 379,
REPEALING CHAPTER 4, AND ADDING SECTION
382 TO ORDINANCE NO. 645 , THE GILROY
IMPROVEMENT PROCEDURE CODE
The Council of the City of Gilroy does ordain as follows:
1. Section 63 of the ordinance cited in the title is
amended to read:
63. POSTING AND MAILING. It shall not be neces-
sary to post or mail any notice, resolution or other
document or make or file any affidavit in regard
thereto, unless no publication is provided or posting
or mailing is necessary to provide jurisdiction. In
such event said posting or mailing shall be at least
ten days prior to any hearing provided therein unless
a shorter time is provided by general law.
2. Chapter 4 of said ordinance is repealed.
3. Section 379 of said ordinance is amended to read:
379. SUPPLEMENTAL REMEDY PROVISIONS. The supple-
mental remedy provisions of Part 13 (commencing at
Section 8800) of Division 10 of the Streets and
Highways Code shall apply. This sectien is adopted
pursuant to Section 43240 of the Government Code.
4. Section 382 is added to said ordinance to read:
382. ALTERATION OF DISTRICT. The boundaries of
any district heretofore or hereafter created pursuant
to this Article may be enlarged from time to time in
the manner provided in Section 277 hereof.
5. This ordinance shall be published once forthwith upon
its adoption.
6. This ordinance is necessary as an emergency measure
for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety and

II therefore shall take effect at once.

The facts constituting
such emergency are that it is necessary that proceedings be
taken at once pursuant to the Gilroy Improvement Procedure Code
for financing the costs of vehicle off-street parking facilities
for the relief of traffic congestion in the central business
district of the City and the provisions of this ordinance are
necessary to assure that said proceedings are conducted in
conformity with the greatest of
legality.
