ORDINANCE NO. 726
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY APPROVING AND
ADOPTING OFFICIAL PLAN LINES FOR THAT PART OF
WAS PARKWAY BETWEEN THOMAS ROAD AT MONTEREY
HIGHWAY TO THE pItOPOSED EXTENS ION OF SANTA TERESA
BOULEVARD
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Gilroy has heretofore
referred to the Planning Commission of said City the matter of
establishing official plan lines for Uvas Parkway; and
WHEREAS, the said Planning Commission has held public
hearings upon the said proposal, after having given due and
legal notice thereof, and has made its report, which is now on
file in the office of the City Clerk, in which it recommends that
official plan lines for that portion of said Uvas Parkway between
Thomas Road at Monterey Highway and the p~oposed extension of
Santa Teresa Boulevard, as shown on the report and plat prepared
by the City Engineer and designated as "Official Plan Lines of
Uvas Parkway from Thomas Road at Monterey Highway to the Proposed
Extension of Santa Teresa Boulevard", be established at this
time and that the plan lines for the remaining portion of Uvas
Parkway be considered at a future date; and
WHEBEAS, it is necessary that a hearing be held before the
Council upon the said report of said Planning Commission and the
Council did, at its meeting regularly held on the 15th day of
June, 1964, fix the 6th day of July, 1964, at the hour of 8 o'clock,
p.m., in the Council Chambers in the City Hall at No. 10 South
Rosanna Street, Gilroy, California, as the time and place for
hearing the said report of the said Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, the said hearing has now been held pursuant to said
notice and the Council has heard subh objections against and
arguments in favor of the establishing of said official plan
lines and has determined that it is in the public interest that
said official plan lines as herein recommended be adopted without
delay;

NOWt THEREFOREt THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the said report and reco~mendation of said
Planning Commission proposing the adoption of said plan lines as
shown upon the map above referred to, designated as "Official
Plan Lines for Uvas Parkway from Thomas Road at Monterey Highway
to the Proposed Extension of Santa Teresa Boulevard" is hereby
approved and adopted as the official plan lines for the said
portion of said Uvas Parkway as a part of the circulation element
of the general plan for the City of Gilroy.
Section 2. That the said map hereinbefore referred to,
together with all data and information indicated thereon, is hereto
attached, marked "Exhibit A", incorporated herein and made a part
of this ordinance.
Section 3. A copy of this Ordinance, duly certified as such
by the City Clerk, shall be delivered to the Santa Clara County
Planning Commission and the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors of
Santa Clara County.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force thirty (30) days from and after its adoption and approval.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of August, 1964, by the
