ORDINANCE NO. 121-
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY AUTHORIZING THE COUNCIL
OF SAID CITY TO FIX TIME LIMITS WITHIN WHICH PERSONS MAY
BE OR REMAIN UPON PUBLIC PARKS OR OTHER PUBLIC AREAS IN
OR BELONGING TO THE CITY OF GILROY
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. There is hereby added to the Gilroy City Code a
new section to be designated as Sec. 2. 59A, to read as follows:
Sec. 2.S9A. Council may fix time limits of public to remain in
in public park or other public areas.
(1) The Council may, by resolution, fix the time limits
within which any person may be or remain upon any public
park or other public place in or belonging to the City of
Gilroy. When the Council has, by resolution, determined
the time during which any public park or other public
place belonging to the City of Gilroy except public thorough-
fares may be closed to the public, the City Administrator
shall cause a notice thereof to be posted in a prominent place
in said park or other area.
(2) When a sign or signs mentioned in Subdivision (I) of
this section has been properly posted, it shall be unlawful
for any person to enter or remain upon or loiter about the
posted park or area during the time fixed on the notice
closing the park or area to the public.
(3) This section shall not apply to any person or organi-
zation which has obtained written permission from the City
Administrator to remain in or upon the public park or other
public property during the time theretofore fixed by the
Council closing the areas to the public.
Section 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be and is hereby declared to
be in full force and effect from and after 30 days after the date of
passage and adoption, and shall be published at least once by title
and summary in the Gilroy Evening Dispatch, a newspaper of general
circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Gilroy,

This ordinance was regularly introduced at a meeting of the City
Council of the City of Gilroy on the
20th day of Apri I , 1965.
It was regularly passed and adopted by the Council of said City on
the 3rd day of May , 1965, by the following roll call vote:
