ORDINANCE NO. 740
ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
GILROY BY REMOVING FROM SEC. 32.1, SUBDIVISION (b),
AUTOMOBILE SERVICE STATIONS, AS A USE PERMITTED IN Cl
DISTRICTS, AND AMENDING SEC. 32.2 OF THE SAID ZONING
ORDINANCE BY INCLUDING AUTOMOBILE SERVICE STATIONS AS
A CONDITIONAL USE IN A C1 DISTRICT
WHEREAS, that the planning Commission of the City of Gilroy
has heretofore, upon its own initiative, proposed that the zoning
Ordinance of the City of Gilroy be amended by removing from Sec.
32.1, Subdivision (b), Automobile Service Stations as a use
permitted in Cl District, and amending also Sec. 32.2 of said
Zoning Ordinance by including automobile service stations as a
conditional use in a C1 District by adding to said Sec. 32.2,
Subdivision (c), listing "Automobile Service Stations": and
WHEREAS, the said Planning Commission has heretofore, by
resolution, fixed the time of hearing its said proposal to so
amend the said zoning Ordinance, given notice of the hearing in
accordance with the provisions of the zoning ordinance and of
law, has held the said hearing in accordance therewith, and has
made its report and recommendation to the Council upon the said
proposal in which it has recommended that the said amendment
be adopted: and
WHEREAS, the Council of the said City has heretofore fixed
the 20th day of April, 1965, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock, p.m.,
in the council Chambers in the City Hall at NO. 10 south Rosanna
street, Gilroy, California, as the time and place for hearing
the said report and recommendation of the said planning commission,
and the public hearing having now been held at the time and place
fixed in the said notice, and the Council having heard the evidence
presented and duly considered the said proposal, has determined
that the said amendment to the said zoning Ordinance should be
granted in accordance with the proposal.

NOW THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Sec. 32.1 of the zoning Ordinance of the City
of Gilroy is hereby amended by eliminating therefrom Subdivision
(b), Automobile service Stations as a permitted use.
Section 2: Sec. 32.2 of the said zoning Ordinance is hereby
amended by adding thereto a Subdivision (c) to read as follows:
(c) Automobile Service Stations.
Section 3: All ordinances and parts of ordinances in con-
f1ict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4: This ordinance shall be and is hereby declared
to be in full force and effect thirty (30) days from and after
the date of passage and adoption, and shall be published at least
once, by title and summary, in the Gilroy Evening Dispatch, a news-
paper of general circulation printed, published and circulated in
the City of Gilroy, California.
This ordinance was regularly introduced at a meeting of the
City Council of the City of Gilroy on the ~Oth day of April, 1965.
It was regularly passed and adopted by the Council of said City
on the ~ day of May , 1965, by the following roll call vote:
