AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 27.12 OF THE GILROY
CITY CODE FIXING THE AMOU~ OF CASH DEPOSITS TO
BE GIVEN TO THE CITY OF GILROY WITH APPLICATION
FOR WATER SERVICE AND PROVIDING FOR EXCEPTIONS
AFTER APPLICANT FOR WATER SERVICE HAS
ESTABLISHED GOOD CREDIT
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 27.12 of the Gilroy City Code as found
in Article I, Chapter 27, of the said Code is hereby amended to
read as follows:
Sec. 27.12. Deposits by applicants not having legal ownership
of property - Generally.
Every application for water service for a single family
residence by any person that does not own or have legal
ownership of property where service is applied for shall
be accompanied by cash deposits as follows:
(a) For single family residence - $10.00
(b) Commercial service - $20.00
(c) Multi-residential units - $5.00 per unit
A service charge of one dollar ($1.00) shall also be paid
with each application.
An applicant for water service whose credit with the city
has been established need make no deposit. The payment by
any person of his water bills by the 15th of each month to
the city for a period of at least one year shall be presumed
to establish the credit for such person with the city.
Section 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force 30 days after the date of passing and approval.
