AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
AMENDING SEC. 15.49 OF THE GILROY CITY COnE DESIGNATING
THE DIRECTION OF TRAFFIC ON CERTAIN STREETS IN THE CITY
OF GILROY BY REVERSING THE DIRECTION OF TRAFFIC UPON THE
ALLEYS IN BLOCKS ONE AND TWO NORTH AND BLOCK TWO SOUTH,
ALL IN RANGE ONE WEST, IN THE CITY OF GILROY, AND AMENDING
SEC. 15.41 OF THE SAID CODE BY ADDING THREE INTERSECTIONS AT
WHICH STOP SIGNS MUST BE PLACED
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
section I: Subdivision 1 of Sec. 15.49 of the Gilroy City
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 15.49. Designation and movement of traffic.
1. On the alleys running in a generally northerly and
southerly direction through Blocks 1 and 2 North
and Block 1 South, all in Range 1 West of the City,
only southbound graffic shall be permitted.
section II: Sec. 15.41 of the Gilroy City code is hereby
amended to ~d as follo~~~
Sec. 15.41. same - Designated intersections.
In accordance with the provisions of section 15.39 and
when stop signs are erected giving notice thereof, drivers
of vehicles shall stop at the entrance or entxaaces of or to
those intersections and other places described as follows:
1. On Alexander Street atboth north and south entrances
to Ninth Street, stopping both northbound and south-
bound traffic on Alexander Street at Ninth street.
2. On Church Street at both north and south entrances to
Sixth Street, stopping northbound and southbound
traffic on Church Street and Sixth Street.
3. On Forest Street at its south entrance to I.O.O.F.
Avenue, stopping northbound traffic on Forest street
at I.O.O.F.
4. On I.O.O.F. Avenue at its east and west entrances to
Forest street, stopping both eastbound and westbound
traffic to I.O.O.F. Avenue at Forest Street.
5. On Sixth Street at both east and west entrances to
Church street, stopping eastbound and westbound
traffic on Sixth Street at Church Street.
6. On Rosanna Street at both north and south entrances
to Fifth Street, stopping north and southbound traffic
on Rosanna Street at Fifth Street.
7. On Fifth street at both east and west entrances to
Hanna Street, stopping eastbound and westbound araffic
on Fifth Street at Hanna Street.

8. On Dowdy street, at both north and sQuthentrances ,to
Fifth street, stopping northbound and southbound
traffic on Dowdy street at Fifth street.
section III: Signs shall be placed stopping the traffic as
provided for in Section II of this ordinance, and directing
,
traffic on the said alleys mentioned in Section I of this ordinance,
in accordance with the Traffic code of the City of Gilroy.
section IV: All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
Section V: This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force thirty (30) days from and after its adoption and approval.
This ordinance was introduced and ordered published by title
and summary at a regular meeting of the Council held on the 16th
day of August, 1965, by the following roll call vote:
