AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY AMENDING SEC.
23.3 OF THE GILROY CITY CODE BY CHANGING THE
RATES TO BE CHARGED BY TAXICAB OPERATORS
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Sec. 23.3 of the Gilroy City Code is hereby amended
to read as follows:
Sec. 23.3 Same - Schedule
It shall be unlawful except for trips to or from outside
the City where the charge is fixed on a trip basis, for the
owner or driverof any taxicab, as defined in section 23.1
of this chapter, to fix or charge or collect a rate in excess
of the following:
(1) For the first one-fifth mile or fraction thereof,
fifty cents.
(2) For each additional one-fifth mile, or fraction thereof,
ten cents.
(3) The foregoing charges apply to any number of passen-
gers up to but not in excess of, five, where the point of
destination for all of such passengers is the same; and for
each such passenger in excess of five the foregoing charges
may be increased, but not to exceed ten per cent thereof.
(4) For waiting or traffic delay time up to a maximum
not to exceed six dollars per hour.
(5) In case any taxicab or rent car shall become disabled
or break down while conveying passengers for hire, the time
of stoppage shall be deducted from the time charged for.

Sectton 2: All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force thirty (30) days from and after its adoption and approval.

Council and ordered publiShed by title and summary at a regular meeting
