AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY AMENDING THE
ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE SAID CITY BY REMOVING FROM
Rl (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) DISTRICT AND PLACING
IN R3 (MULTIPLE RESIDENCE) DISTRICT THE 1.877 ACRES
PREMISES OF THOMAS H. AND BERNICE W. DOHERTY LOCATED
IMMEDIATELY NORTH OF AND ADJOINING THE ARMORY PREMISES
ON THE EASTERLY SIDE OF WREN AVENUE
WHEREAS: THOMAS H. and BERNICE W. DOHERTY, his wife, have
filed their verified petition with the Planning Commission asking
for the rezoning of their 1.877 acre tract of land located along
and immediately East. of the centerline of Wren Avenue in the City
of Gilroy from an Rl (Single Family Residential) District to an
R3 {Multiple Residential) District, the said premises being more
particularly described as follows:
The premises located immediately north of the said
Armory premises, with a frontage of 250 feet along the
centerline of Wren Avenue and extending easterly 327
feet therefrom, with the opposite sides of said tract
being parallel.
and
WHEREAS, the said Planning Commission did hretofore fix a
date for the public hearing upon said petition, gave due and
legal notice of the said hearing as required by the Zoning Ordi-
nance of the City of Gilroy and law, has held the said hearing at
the time and place fixed in the notice, and has made its report
to the Council, in which it recommends that the petition should
be approved and granted upon the condition that the said premises
be subject to the combining regulations of liS" or special zoning
areai and
WHEREAS, the Council has heretofore fixed the 15th day of
November, 1965, at the hour of 8:00 olclock, p.m., in the Council
Chambers in the City Hall at No. 10 South Rosanna Street, Gilroy,
California, as the time and place for the public hearing of the
said report and recommendation of the Planning Commi~ on upon said
rezoning, and notice of the said hearing has been given in accordance
with law, and the said hearing now having been held in accordance
with the said notice, and the Council having duly considered the

said application and the report of the said Commission, as well as
the evidence as presented at the hearing, has determined that the
said Zoning Ordinance should be amended in accordance with the said
petition.
NOW THEREFORE: THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The Zoning Ordinance of the City of Gilroy is
hereby amended by removing from R1 District and placing in R3
District, as the same are defined in the said Zoning Ordinance, the
premises hereinbefore described belonging to the said THOMAS H. and
BERNICE W. DOHERTY, his wife, said premises to be subject to the
combining regulations of nSn or special Zoning area.
Section 2:
The official map constituting a part of the
Zoning Ordinance of the City of Gilroy shall be amended to reflect
the foregoing change of classification of the said property.
Section 3: All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force thirty (30) days from and after its passage and approval.
