ORDINANCE NO. 763
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY AMENDING SECTIONS 17.9 and
17.10 OF THE GILROY CITY CODE RELATING TO THE I'BASIC PAY PLAN'1.
WHEREAS, each year the City Council adopts a new salary range program for
the various classifications; and,
WHEREAS, when the Basic Pay Plan is directly effected, a codification of
the ordinance becomes necessary; and,
WHEREAS, considerable savings is real ized when changes to the Basic Pay
Plan can be accompl ished by Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, that the Gilroy City Code, Section 17.9
and Section 17.10 be amended to read as follows:
Section 17.9 Basic Pay Plan.
The salary ranges and steps shall constitute the "Basic Pay Plan" and
shall be established by resolution and shall apply to the several classifications
as indicated in related resolutions.
Section 17.10 General Adjustments in Salary.
General adjustments in salary ranges made by virtue of general increases
or decreases in salary levels or cost of 1 iving in the community shall be made
by adjusting classes upward or downward to the appropriate standard salary
level provided in the "Basic Pay Plan". Where the salary range for a given class
or for several classes is revided upward or downward, the employees holding
positions in classes affected shall have their existing salary adjusted to the
same relative step in the new salary range.
THIS ORDINANCE shall take effect and be in full force thirty (30) days
from and after its passage and approval.
