ORD INANCE NO. 794
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY AMENDING
OFFICIAL PIAN LINES OF THE NORTH CHURCH
STREET EXTENSION BETWEEN WELBURN AND CARLYLE
AVENUES FROM A 75 FOOT WIDTH TO AN 86 FOOT
WIDTH OF THE STREET.
WHEREAS, The Planning Commission of the City of Gilroy
has heretofore proposed on its own initiative that the Plan Lines
described of the northerly extension of Church Street be
changed so that the easterly and westerly plan lines of that
portion of said street will be at a uniform distance of
forty-three (43) feet east and.Yest respectively from the
center line of said street which said center line of said
portion of said street is described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the center-
line of Welburn Avenue with the centerline of Church
Street as shown on that certain map filed for record
in the Office of the County Recorder of Santa Clara
County, California: in Book 3 of Official Plan Line
Maps at page 8 therein,
Thence in a northerly direction on the centerline of
Church Street as shown on said map to the point of
intersection with the centerline of Carlyle Avenue
125 feet more or less north of the centerline of Liman
Avenue as shown on said map.
and:
WHEREAS, said Planning Commission duly held a
public hearing upon its said proposal to so amend said Plan
Lines, notice of said hearing was given as required by law,
and after the said hearing the said Commission did adopt
a resolution approving the amendment of said Plan Lines in
accordance with the said proposal and made its report to the
Council recommending the adoption of said amended Plan
Lines; and

WHEREAS, the said Council did heretofore fix
Monday the 3rd day of April, 1967, at the hour of 8:00
o.clock p.m. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall,
No. 10 South Rosanna Street, Gilroy, California, as the
time and place for holding the public hearing upon the
said report and recommendation of the said Planning
Commissbn, and notice of said hearing has been given as
required by law, ardthe said hearing has been held at the
time and place fixed in the said notice, and after hearing
the evidence presented and reasons given for said proposed
change in the said Plan Lines, the said Council believes that
the public good and welfare and necessity requires that the
proposed amended Plan Lines be adopted as a part of the
circulation element of the General Plan of the City of
Gilroy;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Gilroy does
ordain as follows:
section 1. That the said report and recommendation of
the said Planning Commission proposing the adoption of said
Plan Lines be and the same is hereby approvedithat the said
Plan Lines as shown upon the map on file in the Office of the
City Clerk showing said Plan Lines and designated as "Official
Amended Plan Lines of Northerly Extension of Church street
between Welburn Avenue and LJ"man Avenue. April," 1967.
William K. Henry, Jr., City Engineer." be and'the same are hereby
adopted as Official Plan Lines for said portion of said street, as
a part of the circulation element of the General Plan of the
City of Gilroy.

Section 2. That the said Map heretofore referred to,
together with all data and information indicated thereon is hereto
attached, marked "Exhibit A" and incorporated herein and is made
a part of this Ordinance.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be
in full force and effect thirty (30) days from and after its
adoption and approval.
This Ordinance was introduced and ordered published
by title and summary at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Gilroy held on the 3rd day of April, 1967, and
finally adopted at a regular meeting held on the 18th day of
April, 1967, by the following vote:
