ORDINANCE NO. 887
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY PROVIDING FOR
REVISED CHARGES FOR INSTALLATION OF WATER SERVICES
WITHIN THE CITY OF GILROY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: Section 27.45 of the Gilroy City Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Sec. 27.45 Schedule of service charges.
Charges for installation of water services within the city
for all uses shall be a service charge as follows, to be
paid at time of application:

larger: Developer provides and installs service line,
City-approved meter, box and paving if required.
City will set the meter at no charge.
SECTION II: Section 27.49 of the Gilroy City Code is hereby
repealed.
SECTION III: This is an Emergency Ordinance which shall take
effect immediately upon its passage and approval. The facts and
circumstances giving rise to the emergency are as follows:
Amended service charges for the installation of water
meters should take effect immediately so as to be in
effect for the entire fiscal year of 1970-1971 and so
as to permit collection for the installation of meters
at the amended rates for all pending subdivisions and
other developments effective immediately.
This Ordinance was introduced as an emergency measure and
passed and adopted to become effective immediately and ordered

published by title and summary in accordance with provisions of
the City Charter at a regular session of the City Council held on
the 1st day of June, 1970, by the following vote:
