ORDINANCE NO. 909
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY AMENDING SECTION
15.43 OF THE GILROY CITY CODE BY ESTABLISHING WESTWOOD
DRIVE AS A THROUGH STREET IN SAID CITY.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Section 15.43 of the Gilroy City Code designating
"through streets" is hereby amended by adding thereto the
following subparagraph 21:
21. WESTWOOD DRIVE from First Street to its southern
terminous except at its intersection with Third
Street.
SECTION II. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION III. The Council hereby declares that an emergency
exists requiring the immediate adoption and placing in effect of
this Ordinance and that the said emergency arises out of the fact
that all intersections along Westwood Drive in the City of Gilroy
as they exist prior to the adoption of this amendment are dangerous
to the drivers and occupants of motor vehicles and to pedestrians,
that accidents have frequently occured at said intersections, that
the adoption of this Ordinance will tend to prevent further
accidents, injury or deaths at the said intersections and that it
should be made effective immediately for those reasons; that
therefore this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
from and after its adoption and approval.
This ordinance was passed and adopted at a regular meeting of
the Council held on February 16, 1971, and was ordered published
by title and summary at least once within fifteen (15) days after
its adoption, in accordance with the charter of the City of Gilroy
by the following vote:

WENTWORTH and GOODRICH
