ORDINANCE NO. 921
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY AMENDING SECTION
23.42(b) OF THE CITY CODE PERTAINING TO TAXICAB INSURANCE
SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR COVERAGE AS SET FORTH IN SECTION 16500
OF THE VEHICLE CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 10
Sec. 23.42(b) of the Gilroy City Code relating to
taxicab liability insurance is amended to read as follows:
(b) Such policy insures the owner, as defined in this
chapter, and any other person driving, using or
responsible for the use of any taxicab or rent car,
covered by the policy, with the consent, express or
implied, of the owner, and also the city, against loss
from the liability imposed on any of them by law for
injury to, or death of, any person, or damage to property,
arising from or growing out of the maintenance, operation
or ownership of any taxicab or rent car covered by the
policy in the amounts set forth in Section 16500 of the
Vehicle Code of the State of California as it now exists
or may hereafter be amended;
SECTION II.
All other ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 1110
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force (30) days from and after its adoption and approval.
