ORDINANCE NO. 941
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GILROY REPEALING AND AMENDING OUTMODED AND
PREEMPTED PROVISIONS OF CHAPTERS 15 AND 16 OF THE
GILROY CITY CODE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section I: The following sections of Chapter 15 of the Gilroy
City Code pertaining to Motor Vehicles and Traffic are hereby
repealed: Sections 15.7,15.8,15.9,15.16,15.17,15.18,15.19,
15.21, 15.22, 15.23, 15.25, 15.26, 15,"27, 15.28, 15..29, 15.33,
15.34, 15.37, 15..39, 15.41, 15.44, 15.46, 15.47, 15.55, 15.102 and
15.107.
Section II: The following sections of Chapter 16 of the
Gilroy City Code pertaining to Offenses--Misce11aneous are hereby
repealed: Sections 16.6, 16.7, 16.7-1, 16.8, 16.9, 16.10, 16.11,
16.12, 16.13, 16.14, 16.15, 16.16, 16.23, 16.24 and 16.25.
Section III: Section 15.3 of the Gilroy City Code is hereby
amended to real as follows:
Sec.. 15.3. Animal-drawn vehci1es.
No person shall drive any animal-drawn vehicle into
or within the central traffic district.
Section IV: Section 15.40 of the Gilroy City Code is hereby
amended by deleting therefrom the fourth and last paragraph
thereof pertaining to flexible rubber stop signs affixed to the
pavement at railroad grade crossings..
Section V: Section 15.71 of the Gilroy City Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Sec. 15.71. Same--On paved streets at night.
No person shall stop, stand or park any vehicle on any
paved street, that is on the paved portion of such street
if paved to the curb, for a period of time longer than
thirty minutes between the hours of 2:00 A.M. and 4:30 A.M.
of any day when appropriate signs are erected.
Section VI: Section 16.26 of the Gilroy City Code is hereby
amended to real as follows:

Sec. 16.26. Same--Prohibition against discharging
firearms.
It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge any
gun, pistol or other firearms or to use any gun, pistol
or any other firearm for the purpose of firing off any
composition of an explosive nature or to use any
rubber flipper, sling or slingshot for the purpose of
throwing lead or stones or any other hard substance
within the city, except in a duly licensed shooting
gallery.
Section VII: All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section VIII: This ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force thirty (30) days from and after its passage and
approval.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of November, 1971, by the
following vote:
