ORDINANCE NO. 952
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY AMENDING THE
ZONING ORDINANCE OF SAID CITY BY PREZONING 9.0
ACRES AS R-3 (LOW DENSITY MULTIPLE FAMILY
RESIDENCE), 5.5 ACRES AS R-2 (TWO FAMILY
RESIDENCE), AND 91.0 ACRES AS R-l (SINGLE
FAMILY RESIDENCE), A TOTAL OF 105.5 ACRES, SAID
PROPERTY BEING PART OF A PROPOSED ANNEXATION
FILED WITH THE CITY OF GILROY.
WHEREAS SAN MARTIN VINEYARDS has heretofore filed with the
Planning Commission of the City of Gilroy a petition in due form
requesting the prezoning of 9.0 acres as R-3 (Low Density
Multiple Family Residence), 5.5 acres as R-2 (Two Family
Residence), and 91.0 acres as R-l (Single Family Residence), a
total of 105.5 acres, and has held the hearing, and has made its
report to the Council of the City of Gilroy, in which it
recommends that the l05.5 acres hereinafter described be
prezoned as set forth above; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Gilroy has fixed the
22nd day of February, 1972, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m. in
the Council Chambers in the City Hall at 7390 Rosanna Street,
Gilroy, California, as the time and place for hearing the said
report and recommendation upon the said application, and notice of
the said hearing has been given in accordance with the said
Zoning Ordinance, and a public hearing has now been held upon the
said application before the Council, and the Council having duly
considered the said application and the evidence presented, and
has determined that the said Zoning Ordinance should be amended
in accordance with the report of the said Planning Commission,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section l: The Zoning Ordinance of the City of Gilroy is
ORDINANCE NO. 952
hereby amended by prezoning to become effective upon annexation
and placing 9.0 acres in R-3 District, 5.5 acres in R-2 District
and 9l.0 acres in R-l District, as the same are described and
defined in the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Gilroy, the
following described premises:
All that certain real property located in the County of
Santa Clara, State of California, described as follows:
l,098 feet north and 882 fe~t south of Third Street,
bounded by Castlewood Park Unit 4 and El Roble School
on the east and Castlewood Park Unit 5 and Westwood
Acres on the west. Shown as Parcels 803-25-11, 33 and
34 in the Santa Clara County Tax Assessor's Map Book
with the R-l, R-2 and R-3 zones shown upon the map
filed with the application.
Section 2: The official map constituting a part of the
Zoning Ordinance of the City of Gilroy shall be amended to reflect
the foregoing changes of classification of the said property.
Section 3: All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force thirty (30) days from and after its passage and approval,
and upon annexation of said property to the City of Gilroy.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of March, 1972, by the
