Ordinance 1976-15ORDINANCE NO. 76- 15 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY FIXING THE AD VALOREM ASSESSmeNT FOR THE CURRENT FISCAL YEAR 1976-1977 NECESSARY TO SUPPORT THE DEPARTMENTS AND BONDED INDEBTEDNESS OF THE CITY OF GILROY AND THE CITY OF GILROY PARKING DISTRICT NO. 1 - FIRST AND SECOND DIVISIONS. WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted Ordinance No. 76-14 fixing the amount of revenue from property taxes necessary to sup- port its departments for the current year 1976-1977, and to pay the bonded and other indebtedness of the City or any portion or district of the City; and WHEREAS, Section 51511 of the Government Code requires that the City Legislative body annually before September 1st, fix the rate of taxes or rates of taxes if different portions or dis- tricts require different rates, designated in the number of cents upon each $100.00, using as a basis the value of the property as assessed and equalized, which rates shall be sufficient to raise the amount fixed by ordinance or resolution and the expenses of collection; and WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted Ordinance No. 76-14 fixing the amount of revenue to support its departments and pay for its Bonded Indebtedness for the current year at the sum of $741,570.00 and to raise the said sum will require a tax rate for the current fiscal year of $1.20 for each $100.00 value of property as assessed and equalized and said rates should be adopted as the tax rates for said current fiscal year; and WHEREAS, the City of Gilroy has also adopted in said Ordinance No. 76-14 the fixed amount of revenue, in the amount of $13,870.00, required by the City of Gilroy Parking District No. 1 - First and Second Divisions to pay its bonded indebtedness, and to raise said sum will require a tax rate for the current fiscal year of $3.53 on land only within said district which is Code area No. 2-007, for each $100.00 value on land assessed and equalized and ORDINANCE NO. 76-15 -1- or levying the annual tax upon property, need not be published and can be made effective immediately upon adoption, this ordinance shall take effect from and after its adoption and approval, but the City Clerk shall cause at least the title and summary of this ordin- ance to be published once in the official newspaper of the City within fifteen (15) days after its adoption.
