ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROYAMENDING THE ZONING
ORDINANCE OF SAID CITY BY PREZONING 96.89 ACRES
ADJOINING THE CITY OF GILROY WEST OF MILLER AVENUE
AND NORTH OF UVAS CREEK AS R-1 (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE).
WHEREAS, SINGER HOUSING COMPANY has heretofore filed with the
Planning Commission of the City of Gilroy a petition in due form
requesting the prezoning of 96.89 acres as R-1 (Single Family Residence),
and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Gilroy has given
due notice of a public hearing upon the said application, in accordance
with the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Gilroy, has held the hearing,
and has made its report to the Council of the City of Gilroy, in
which it recommends that the 96.89 acres hereinafter described be pre-
zoned as set forth above; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Gilroy has fixed the 22nd day
of February, 1977, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m. in the Council
Chambers in the City Hall at 7390 Rosanna Street, Gilroy, California,
as the time and place for hearing the said report and recommendation
upon the said application, and notice of the said hearing has been
given in accordance with the said Zoning Ordinance, and a public hearing
has now been held upon the said application before the Council, and
the Council having duly considered the said application and the evidence
presented, and has determined that the said Zoning Ordinance should
be amended in accordance with the report of the said Planning Commission,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The Zoning Ordinance of the City of Gilroy is hereby
amended by prezoning to become effective upon annexation and placing

96.89 acres in R-1 District, as the same is described and defined in
the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Gilroy, the following described
premises:
All that property located in the County of Santa
Clara, State of California, described as follows;
That 96.89 acre parcel bounded to the north by
Castlewood Park subdivision, to the south by
Uvas Creek, to the west by Westwood Acres, and
to the east by Miller Avenue, and shown as parcel
808-17-5 in the Santa Clara County Tax Assessor's
Map Book.
Section 2: The official map constituting a part of the Zoning
Ordinance of the City of Gilroy shall be amended to reflect the fore-
going changes of classification of the said property.
Section 3: Ail ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4: This ordinance shall tak~ effect and be in full force
thirty (30) days from and after its passage and approval, and upon
annexation of said property to the City of Gilroy.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of March, 1977, by the following
