AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY AMENDING SECTION
15.90 OF THE GILROY CITY CODE SO AS TO DESIGNATE
BLUE PARKING ZONES FOR THE EXCLUSIVE USE OF DISABLED
PERSONS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Section 15.90 of the Gilroy City Code is amended
to read as follows:
Sec. 15.90. Curb markings--Authority; meaning.
The city administrator is authorized, subject to
the provisions and limitations of this chapter, to
place and when required by this chapter or other
ordinance of the city shall place the following curb
or pavement markings to indicate parking or standing
regulations and such markings shall have the meanings
as set forth:
Red. No stopping, standing or parking at any time
except as permitted by the state Vehicle Code and
except that a bus may stop in a red zone marked or
signed as a bus zone.
Yellow. No stopping, standing or parking at any
tim'~ between 7:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. of any day except
Sundays and holidays for any purpose other than the
loading or unloading of passengers which shall consume
less than three minutes or the loading or unloading
materials which shall consume less than twenty minutes.
White. No stopping, standing or parking for any
purpose other than loading or unloading of passengers
which shall not exceed three minutes, such restrictions
to apply between 7:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. of any day
except Sundays. and holidays and except as follows:
When sudh zone is in front of a hotel, the
restrictions shall apply at all times~
~hen such zone is in front of a theater, the
restrictions shall apply at all times except when
such theater is closed~
Green: No standing or parking for longer than
ten minutes at any time between 7:00 A.M. and 6:00
P.M. of any day except Sundays and holidays~
Blue~ (In conjunc~n with a blue snd wbi~
whe~air and occupant ~ign),~ No stopping, standing

or parking at any time by any vehicle which does
not display a distinguishing license plate or
placard issued under the Vehicle Code to a disabled
person or disabled veteran.
SECTION II. All other ordinances and parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION III. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force thirty (30) days from and after its adoption and
approval.
