Ordinance 1979-21ORDINANCB NO. 79 - 21 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY FIXING AMOUNT OF REVENUE FROM PROPERTY TAXES NECESSARY TO ~AY BONDED OR OTHER INDEBTEDNESS OF THE CITY OF GILROY OR ANYiPORTION OR DISTRICT OF THE CITY OF GILROY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1979-1980. WHEREAS, the duties ~f the Assessor and Tax Collector of the City of Gilroy have h~reto been transferred to the County Assessor and County Tax Collector, respectively, of the County of Santa Clara in accordancelwith Sections 51500 to 515].8 of the Government Code; and WHEREAS, Section 51508 of said Code requires that the Legislative body of the City shall determine by ordinance or resolution, prior to the fixing of the tax rate for the current year, the amount of revenue from property taxes necessary to pay the bonded or other indel of the City; and WHEREAS, the Council ,tedness of the City or any portion of the City of Gilroy has not yet fixed the tax rate for the 1979-1980 Fiscal Year, but will do so following the adoption oflthis ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE 17 ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That thc Council of the City of Gilroy does hereby fix the amount oJ. revenue from property taxes neces- sary to pay the bonded and ot:her indebtedness of the City with the exception of the City of!Gilroy Parking District No. 1 - First Division, and the City of Gilroy Parking District No. 1 - Second Division, at the sum df $99,477.00. ORDINANCE NO. 79 - 21 -1- Section 2. That thc Council of the City of Gilroy does hereby fix the amount of few nue from property taxes necessary to pay the bonded indebtedne~'.s of the City of Gilroy Parking District No. 1 - First and Second Divisions, at the sum of $11,446.00. Section 3. For the!reason that Article VI of the Gilroy Charter provides that an ordinance declaring the amount of money necessary to be raised for taxation or fixing the rate of taxa- tion or levying the annual t~x upon property, need not be pub- lished and can be made effeclive immediately upon adoption, this ordinance shall take effect ~rom and after its adoption and ap- proval, and there shall be n~ publication of this ordinance prior to adoption, but the City Cl~rk shall cause at least the title and summary of this ordinanc~ to be published once in the offi- cial newspaper of the City within fifteen (15) days after its adoption.
