Ordinance 1980-26ORDINANCE NO. 80 26 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GI]~ROY FIXING AMOI~T OF REVENI~ FROM PROPERTY TAXES NECESSARY TO PAY BONDED OR OTHER INDEBTEDNESS OF THE CITY OF GILROY OR ANTI PORTION OR DISTRICT OF THE CITY OF GILROY FOR THE FISCAL YE~R 1980'1981. WHEREAS, the duties of the Assessor and Tax Collector of the City of Gilroy have hereto been transferred to the County Assessor and County Tax Collector, respectively, of the County of Santa Clara in accordance with Sections 51500 to 51518 of the Government Code; and ~EREAS, Section 5i508 of said Code requires that the Legislative body of the Cit[ shall determine by ordinance or resolution, prior to the fi~ing of the tax rate for the current year, the amount of revenueifrom oroperty taxes necessarv to pay the bonded or other indebtedness of the City or any oortion of the City; and WHEREAS, the Counc{1 of the City of Gilroy has not yet fixed the tax rate for the ~980-1981 Fiscal Year, but will do so following the adoption of this ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUT~CIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That tt~e Council of the City of Gilroy does hereby fix the amount Of revenue from property taxes neces- sary to pay the bonded and Other indebtedness of the City with the exception of the City o~ Gilroy Parking District No. 1 - First Division, and the city of Gilroy Parkinz District No. 1 - Section Division, at the sum of $54,781.00. ORDINANCE NO. 80 - 26 -1- Section 2. That ~he Council of the City of Gilroy does hereby fix the amount of re'zenue from property taxes necessary to pay the bonded indebtedn,~ss of the City of Gilroy Parking Dis- trict No. 1 - First and Sect)nd Divisions, at the sum of $12,032.00. Section 3. For t~e reason that Article VI of the Gilroy Charter provides that an ordinance declaring the amount of money necessary to be raised for ~axation or fixing the rate of taxa- tion or levying the annual tax upon property, need not be pub- lished and can be made effe.~tive immediately upon adoption, this ordinance shall take effect from and after its adoption and appro- val, and there shall be no publication of this ordinance prior to adoption, but the City Clerk shall cause at least the title and summary of this ordinance tO be published once in the official newspaper of the City withih fifteen (15) days after its adoption.
