AN ORDINANCE OF THF, CITY OF GILROYAMENDING
SECTIONS 16.26 AND 16.27 'OF THE GILROY CITY
CODE PROHIBITING DISCHARGE OF GUNS AND SLINGSHOTS
WITHIN THE CITY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF G1LROY DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Sections 16.26 and 16.27 of the Gilroy
City Code are amended to read as follows:
Sec. 16.26. Prohib'ition'a~gainstdiSch'argingj firearms
~or al?guns.
It shall be unlawful for any person within the city
to discharge any gun, air gun, pistol or other firearm
or to use any gun, air gun, pistol or any other firearm
for the purpose of firing off any composition of an explosive
nature or which throws or projects bullets or missiles
to any distance by air pressure or by springs or other
mechanical device, except in a duly licensed shooting gallery.
Violation of this section shall be a misdemeanor.
Sec. 16.27. Prohibition a$ainst slings and slingshots
It shall be unlawful for any person to use any rubber
flipper, sling or slingshot for the purpose of thowing lead
or stones or any other hard substance within the city.
SECTION II. Ail other ordinances and parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION III. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force thirty (30) days from and after its adoption and
approval.
