AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY REPEALING SECTION 10.10
AND AMENDING SECTION 10.9 OF THE GILROY CITY CODE SO AS TO
ADOP% SUBJECT TO MODIFICATION, BY RESOLUTION THE UNIFORM
FIRE CODE TO APPLY IN THE CITY OF GILROY
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES OP~AIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Section 10.10 of the Gilroy City Code is hereby
repealed.
SECTION II. Section 10.9 of the Gilroy City Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
ARTICLE II' UNIFORM FIRE CODE
Sec. 109 Uniform Fire Code adopted subject to amendment
by resOlUtion.
There is hereby adopted by the council of the city for the
purpose of prescribing regulations and governing conditions hazardous
to life and property from fire or explosion, and providing penalties
for the violation thereof, that certain code known as the Uniform Fire
Code to apply in the City of Gilroy.
The latest edition of the above code shall be submitted to the
council from time to time and shall become effective upon approval by
council resolution, subject to such amendments and modifications as may
be contained in each resolution of approval. Copies of all such
resolutions shall be kept on file in the office of the fire chief so
that interested persons may determine the Uniform Fire Code, the edition
and the amendments and modifications applicable in the city.
SECTION III: This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force thirty (30) days from and after its adoption and approval.
