Present Councilmen Chas. H. Pierce, E. Martin Johnson, C. E. Fredrickson, Jerome Chappell, Gerald Hecker, Elmer J. Chesbro. " Tbe minutes of' meetings of' June 6th, June 14th and June 16, were read and ordered approved. Hartin Jolmson seconded by Jerome Chappell the f'ollolVillg resolution was adopted: WlIEIlliAS" the plans and specifications f'or storm sewers f'or the City of Gilroy, as prepared by the City Engineer, provides that said sewer shall pass beneath the railroad tracks of the Southern Pacif'ic Company on Pirst street" and WllEHEAS, it lvill be necessaI'yr in order to get the per- ltlission of' said CdmpallY, for the Ci ty to enter into a written contract with said Company to protect the same f'rom any loss or damage by reason of' the construction and main- tenance of' said sewer or the filing of liens against ,said property f'or labor or material furnished, now, therefore" be it IillSOINED, that the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to execute, on behalf' of' and in tIle name of' the City of' Gilroy a contract with the Southern Pacif'ic containing snch IJrovisions as will safeguard the interests of both parties.
