The minutes of meeting of Nov. ~th were read and ordered ap-
proved.
Of'f'icers reports were read as :follows: License ancl Tax Co 11ect-
or, Police Judge, City Clerk and Water Collector and by motion o:f
Fredriclcson, seconded by Pi tzgerald and carried ordered accepted
and placed on :file.
Cali:fornia Construction COlilpan~r askecl extension o:f time :for
sixty clays for completing certain work.

Southern Pa.clf'ic Company presented resolution relative to
changing mode o:f travel between Gilroy <l.nd Tras Pinos.
By motion of' Freclrj_ckson, seconded by Fitzgerahl tho f'ollol'l"ing
Resolution was passed and adopted, viz:
'JH:cm~A.;, the Southern Paci:fic Company has requested IJerm:tss-
ion of' the Calif'ornia Hailroacl Coml.lissioll to annul its present
passenger service operating on the branch line between Gilroy and
Tres Pinos, and in lieu thereof' to i'urnish through its sUbsidary,
the Southern Pacif'ic I,lotor Transport Company, a passenger service
on the hii~hway, known as the Bolsa Road, which extends 1'rom Gil-
roy to Hollister, thence via. the Tres Pinos Highway to Tres
Pinos, and
\iu.cm:::AS, the proposed new service appears to be more modern in
every respect, with better eCluipluent, and the proposed schedules
are lllore convenient1;}' arrallgecl than are the present scheclules,
BE IT HESOI~VED, that the Council of the City of' Gilroy hereby
endorses the application of' the Southern Paci:fic Company to with-

draw I)resent passenger service ;
and also the application of' the
Southern I)aci:fic l.Iotor Transport Company to place in ef'f'ect the
improved motor coach serVice, bel:ievin{i that this substitution will
:furnish the residents of' the City o:f Gilroy much more convenient
service to and f'rom communities served by the Gilroy-Tres Pinos
line of' the Souther'n Paci:fic COlllpany.
