Minutes 1932/08/01 214 w :=:: o:::J ~ - Gilroy. Calif. August 1st 1932. The regular monthly meeting of the Connnon Counc il was called to order by His Honor Elmer J. Chesbro. Present: Councilman Geo. Easton, J. H. Rush, Fred C. Boock, S. D. Heck, Geo. A. Wentz. Absent: Councilman Geo. C. Milias .Jr. The minutes of meetings of July 5th and July 25th were read and ordered approved. Complaint of Al. Neyans against Harry Johnson, Night Patrol Chief was presented and a future date was to be set for hearing both sides by the Mayor and CoJamon Counc il. 8hairman of the Str,eet Dept Committee made verbal report on the oiling ~f streets, and Chairman of the Water Commi ttee reported on progress at the new well. MOtion bYtWentz seconded by Easton and carried that bonds for well work be accepted and ordered approved. The regular monthly ,reports of City Officers were read and ordered placed on file. A representJ3, tive of the Globe" Milling Company appeared before the Council relative to the Licence tax on motor trucks delivering merchandise. 2.~ ..", j;, .1n Motion by Wentz seconded by Easton that the Ordinanoe Committee investigate the ordinance governing motor transfer f!ll""~ -. of merchandise. Motion by Easton seconded by Boock and carried : that the Larry Gross Detective Service be allowed to proceed with its work without any objection on the part of the City. Motion by Boock seconded by Easton that a stop sign be posted at Eigleberry and Fourth Street and the installation of same be left with the Street Committee. ....... BE IT RESOLVED, By the Mayor and Common Council of the 11I"'"'" City of Gilroy that after the passage of this resolution, angle parking on the streets and roadways of the City of Gilroy shall not be permitted, and the City lVIarshal is hereby authorized and directed to cause all streets now marked for angle parking tobe marked for parallel parking as provided by Section 34 of Article V of Ordinance No.355, of the City of Gilroy, regulating traffio and care of vehicles upon the public streets of the City of Gilroy. ..... Wentz, seconded by Easton and carried that the automobile license be returned to acting fir amen. Motion by Wentz seconded by Easton and carried;- That the COnID10n Council meet as a Board of Equalization on the dates viz;- August 18th, August 25th and Sept 1st 1932 and that the Clerk be authorized to advertise the meetings. The regular monthly bills were presented and by motion of Boock seconded by Easton and carried, ordered allowed and warrants ordered drawn.
