Gilroy, Calif., June 19, 1933.
The regular adjourned meeting of the Common Council of
June 9th, 1933, was called to order by His Honor Mayor Elmer
J. Chesbro.
Present Councilmen Easton, Hush, Boock, Wentz, Milias;
Absent Councilman Heck.
The lilatter ocr the appointment of a Ci ty Attorney came up
for consideration.
Three names were presented, viz: Sidney Johnson, Ran-
dall O'Neill and James W. Byers.
A secret ballot was taken and James W. Byers received
the majority of the ballots cast.
Motion by Geo. A. ~entz seconded by Geo. Easton and
carried that James W. Byers be declared City Attorney and
that he be ordered sworn into office 3t once.
The matter of replacing pipe line to reservoir on Bod-
fish Road taken up.
Councilmen Geo. Easton and Geo. A. l,'ientz were appointed
to see City Attorney Jas. W. Byers relative to resolutions of
respect to the memory of Walter G. Fitzgerald.
