The regular monthly meeting of the Common Council was called
to order by His Honor Mayor Elmer J. Chesbro.

The minutes of November meetings were read and ordered ac-
cepted.
Communication from the illiite family received and ordered
placed on file.
The monthly reports of officers Ylere read and by motion of
C:ouncilman '.Ientz, secondec.. by Councilman Ivl1lias Viere ordered
placecl on file.
Motion introduced by Councilman S. D. Heck, seconded by COUD-
cilman Stewart that Resolution No. 55 be passed and adoptee as
follows:

A RESOLUTION RESCINDING RESOLUTION Nu~mER 54 OF THE
CITY OF GILROY.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COU1TCIL OF THE CITY OF
GILROY:
Section 1. That resolution numbered 54, heretofore
adopted by the Common Council of the City of Gilroy on the
5th day of November, 1934" and entitled "A Resolution Approv-
ing a Grant Agreement between the City of Gilroy and the
United States of A11ltric& and Authorizing its Ex.ecution", be
and the same 1s hereby rescinded.

OF GILROY, AND THE UNITED STATES OF' AMERIOA, AND AUTHORIZING ITS
EXEOUTION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY T~IE Cmr=ON COUNCIL OF ;rHE CITY OF' GILROY:
Section 1. That the Grant Agreement between the City of
Gilroy, and the United states of Anlerica under and subject to
the terms of which the united States will grant not exceeding
in the aggregate the sum of $11,000.00, aid said City of Gilroy
in financing the construction of the replacement of the existing
steel main water supply line with cast iron pipe, a copy of v~~ich
Grant Agreement is filed among the public records of the Oity

of Gilroy in the office of the 01 ty en erk, and which Grant
Agreement is hereb~r made a part hereof, be and the sarne is
hereby in all respects approved.
Section 2. That Elmer J. Chesbro, IIayor of said Oi ty of
GilroJ be and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute
such Gra~t Agreement in triplicate on behalf of the Oity of
$ilroy, and E. F. Rogers, City Clerk of said City of Gilroy be
and he is hereby authorized and directed to impress or affix
the official seal of said City of Gilroy to each of said three
copies of said Grant Agreement and to attest such seal.
Section 3. 'l'hat said City Clerk be and he is hereby auth-
orized and directed to forthwith forward three copies of said
Grant Agreement as executed on behalf of said Oity of Gilroy,
to the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works, Wash-
ington, D.C.

of or changes in said Grant Agreement, in order to comply vJith
the requirements of law, and to execute in the same manner as said
Grant Agreen18nt any further instruments th8.t my be found desir-
able in connection with such modifications or c11.8on;.:;es.
Section 5. That said City Olerk of said Oity of Gilroy be
and he is hereby authorized and directed to forthwith send to
said Pederal Emergency Administration of Public ",lorks two

the proceedings of the Common Council of the City of Gilroy in

desirable in connection with such modifications or changes.
Section 5. That said City Clerk of said City of Gilroy be
and he is hereby authorized and directed to forthwith send to
said Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works two certi-
fied copies of this Resolution and~two certified copies of the
proceedings of the Common Council of th..~~ty of Gilroy in con-
nection with the adoption of this Resolutf:'~n, and such further

The Regular monthly bills were presented and by motion of
\ientz, seconded by Boock were allowed and warrants ordered
drawn.
Motion by Councilman George A. TIentz, seconded by Council-
man J. H. Rush that the Council go into executive session to de-
cide on appointment as Nightwatchman,
Motion By Councilman Fred C. Boock, seconded by Councilman
George C. Milias, Jr. that Joseph Walsh be appointed night-
watchman,
Motion by Wentz seconded by Rush that salary of Nightwatch-
ill2n be placed at ~ 125.00 per month.
Iffotion by Rush duly seconded and carriedthat signs at the
.American Kitchen end I,'Ianila Pool Room be ordered removed un-
less made to correspond with the Ordinance.
