Minutes 1935/11/04 , ----<r.rf c;a:t~TOFnia:-. November 4, 1935 .~.- The'regular monthly meeting of the Conunon Council was called to order by His Honor, Mayor Elmer J. Chesbro. Present Counci~en: Fred C. Boock, S. D. Heck, Ben Stewart and George A. Wentz. Absent Councilmen: J. H. Rush and George C. Milias, Jr. The minutes of meetings of October 7th and October 29th were read and ordered a~proved. Monthly reports of officers were read and by motion of Heck, seconded by Boock, said reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. Resolution lro. ~ was presented and by mot:;.on of Wentz, seconded by Boock, adopted by the following vote: AYES: Boock, Heck, Wentz, Ben Stewart, NOES: Councilmen None: Absent Councilmen, George C. Milias, Jr., and EJ.H. Rush. Motion by Went~,. seconded by Fred C. Boock,;aI1d carried~,that the City of Gilroy be given a qui~laim deed to certain property on Fourth Street in name 'ofW. S. Graham. Motion by Fred C. Boock, that the City assist the Golf Club in maintainine its golf links to the extent of $75.00 per month, and that a report be made each month. This order to take effect November 1st, and continue in force fOI six months, and that the present Board of Directors be authorized to control the project. Motion by Heck, seconded by Boock that a contract be entered into with ~he Union Oil Co. for the lubricating of the tractors of the Street Dept. N o. 5 ft ---------- i :1 II I. 1\ II II Ii I BE IT RESOLVED this 4th day of November, 1935, by the City of Gilroy, a municipal corporation duly organized and existing under and by virtue of the laws of the State of California, sit- uated in the County of Santa Clara, State of California, that one certain indenture of lease made and executed on the 27th day of February, 1922 by and between said City of Gilroy, therein designated as party of the first part, and Coast Counties Gas and Electric Company, a corporation duly organized and existing under and by virtue of the laws of the State of California and having its principal place of business in the City and County of San Francisco in said state, therein designated as party of the second part, wherein said City of Gilroy did for a period of twenty-five (25) years thence next ensuing, lease, demise and let unto said Coast Counties Gas and Electric Company, and a monthly rental of F'ifty Dollars C850.00), certain real property located in said City of Gilroy, then or formerly occupied by the gas works and by the electric plant of said city, together with certain rights of drainage, et cetera, which said lease was on the 6th day of March, 1922 duly filed for record in Volume R of Leases at page 479, Santa Clara County, California Records, is hereby terminated and cancelled conditioned upon and in con- sideration of the paJrment by said Coast COQnties Gas and Electricl Company to said City of the sum of Forty-five Hundred Dollars (:1:;4500000) wi thin five days next ensuingo I II II \ I 'I I I I ,I I I I II \1 Ii :I 11 II II I I I \1 II II Iii II II I, II '\ II I I I I I \\ 11 I , \ I I I !
