The regular adjourned meeting of February 3rd, 1936 was cal.led to order J
by His Honor, Mayor Elmer J. ChesbPO;
.t?resent Councilmen were Fred Boock, S. D. Heck, H. J. Rush, Ben
stewart, George A. Wentz, and George C. Milias, Jr. Absent: None.
Motion by Milias, seconded by Rush that Resolution No. 64 be passed
and adopted as follows:
Vote: AYES: Councilmen Boock, Heck, Rush, Stewart, Wentz, and Milias.
NOES: None: Absent Councilmen: None.

I A RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN ARMORY
~ WITHIN Th~ CITY OF GILROY, AND PROVIDING THAT SAID
CITY SECURE A SUITABLE SITE FOR SAID ARMORY IN THE EVENT
FINANCIAL AID AND ASSISTANCE IS FURNISIffiD BY TIm UNITED
STATES OF' AMERICA TO CONsmiUCT SAID ARt-.TORY.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE C011lVION COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY:
WHEREAS, the State of California is desirous of constructing
an Armory in the bity of Gilroy, Santa Clara County, California,
and the said City of Gilroy by and through it!s Mayor and Common
Council is desirous of cooperating and assisting in the erection
thereof, and,
WHEREAS, in order to secure financial aid, grant or assist-
ance from the United States of America to construct and erect said
Armory, and in order to secure the same it is necessary that the
City of Gilroy provide a site upon which said Armory may be erect-
ed.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMT'.10N COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GILROY, that said City, by and through its Common Council,

I offer, and it does hereby agree to provide a proper and suitable

'I site upon which said Armory may be so erected and constructed for
I the State of California, and such as the State of California may
need and require, and for which object and purpose the City of
Gilroy, acting \s aforesaid, agrees to provide the State of cal:tR,
fornia such suitable and proper site for said Armory, said site to
be located in that certain block in the City of Gilroy, bounded on

I the North by Sixth Street, on the West by Rosanna street, on the
I South by Seventh Street and on the East by Church Street, which
site has been approved by Captain Cecil L. Carlyle of Howitzer
II Company, 184 Infantry of the state of California.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the said City of Gilroy shall
and it does hereby reserve unto itself such uses, rights~ title
and interest in and to said site and the building thereupon to
be erected as an Armory, as the United States of America and the
State of California may permit and allow, as in such cases made
and provided. I

Ii BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that as and when the State of Cali-

of said Armory with the United States of America, the City of I

Gilroy shall conveyor caused to be conveyed by a good and '
sufficient grant deed to the State of California the said site
for such armory as aforesaid.
