Minutes 1936/08/03 B4G Gilroy, California August 3, 1936 The regular monthly meeting of c,he Common Council was called to order by His Honor, Mayor S.~. Heck. Present Councilmen: Nat Heiner, George M. Mason, GeorgeC. Milias, Jr., J. H. Rush, Ben Stewart, Haryy L. Wilkinson. Absent Councilmen: None. Minutes for month of July were read and ordered approved. Monthly reports of City pffices for month of July were read and by r~lOtion of Rush, seconded by Stewart, ordered accepted and placed on file. Motion by Milias, secunded by Heiner, that bids for the impDoveuent of Old Gilroy street be ordered opened. Two bids were presented, viz: The Union Paving Company, $11,567.99, and the A. J. Raisch Company, $12,103.24 Motion by Milias, sec nded by Wilkinson that both bids be rejected and e we advertise for new bids. Motion by Milias, secunded by Heiner, that we re-advertise for bids to be opened on the first meeting of September, 1936. Vote: A:CSS: Councilmen J. H. Rush, Nat Heiner, George M. Mason, Harry L. Wilkinson, Ben Stewart, George C. Milias Jr. The members appointed by the Mayor and terms of office were as follows: Elmer J. Chesbro, four years; H. E. Robinson, three years; L. W. Wheeler, three years; A. W. Brown, two years; Lloyd Smith, one year; and Ge rge A. \'Jentz, one year. Motion by Rush, secJnded by Wilkinson that the appointment of the Pl.anning COJrunission as made by the Mayor be approved. The Committee appointed to investigate the matter of sale of part of the septic tank property on Ols Gilroy Street was as follows: George C. Milias, Jr., J. H. Rush, Ben Stewart. Motion by J. H. Rush, seconded by Heiner that some person be hired to assist in the work in the Clenk's office. Logan and Frazer then presented their report on the audit of the City books. Motion by Rush, seconded by Nilias, and carried, that the report of the auditors be accepted. Councilmen J. H. Rush, George C. Milias, Jr., and Nat Heiner were appointed as a committee to meet Friday night in the Clerk's office in the City Hall to investigate the findings of the auditors. Motion by Wilkinson, duly seconded and carried, that county charges on water consumers be charged to read as follows: I ~~.' ~ aA Iz. 3/4 inch meter, $~.50 for 6000 gals, and-26' cents for^thousand gallons J J ,.... over the minimum; 1 inch meter $2.75 and '20 cents over; l~ inch meter $3.50 and 2 inch meter $3.50. . Motion by Stewart, seconded by Wilkinson that change in rates to take effect from AU6~St 20th, 1936.
