The regular monthly meeting of the Common Council is called to
order by His Honor Mayor S.D.Heck.
Present: Councilmen George C.Milias,Jr.,James Battersby,George A.
Martin,George M.Mason,Nat Heiner.
Absent:Councilman Jack Rogers.
Minutes of the meetings of .June 6th and .June 20th are read and
approved.
Motion by Councilman Mason,seconded by Councilman Martin and
carried that $77.80 be transferred from the General Fund to street
Assessment Bond Funds-Series A. $16.61jSeries B. $5.l0jSerles E.
$56.09.
Motion by Councilman Mason,seconded by Councilman Martin and carried
that the reports of officers be accepted as read and placed on file.
Motion by Councilman Milias,seconded by Councilman IJartin and
carried that Victor Oddie be appointed Deputy City Clerk,Deputy Tax
Collector and Water Collector for the ensuing two years.

The bill of Layne & Bowler Corporation for change-over of pump
at North Monterey Street and ~mrtin Lane is held over until an
official test is made.
The annual report of the Gilroy Free Public Library is read and
placed on file.
Motion by Councilman I,lilias ,seconded by Councilman I~ason and
carried that the summ of $50.00 be donated to the Gilroy Fire Depart-
mente
Motion by Councilman Milias,seconded by Councilman Heiner and
carried that the 1938-39 Assessment Roll be accepted as presented
by the City Clerk and Ex-Officio Assessor.
Mayor Heck sets meetings of the Board of Equalization of the Council
for Monday,.July l8th,Thursday .July 21st and Monday,.July 25th between
thehours of ~:30 P.M. and e o'clock P.M.in the Council Chambers in
the City Hall and the Clerk is instructed to advertise the meetings.
Mot ion by Counc ilman r'artin,seconded by Counc ilman Heiner and carried
that $200.00 be donated to the Gilroy Community Chest.
Discussion of the Municipal Auditorium and Armory is now in order
and it is unanimously decided to hold a public meeting in the Council
Chambers on Thursday evening,.July 14,1938.
Motion by Councilman Milias,seconded by Councilman Heiner and
carried that bills-~s presented be allowed and warrants ordered drawn
